👏🏼It’s great to see schools reporting improved student behaviour after implementing whole of school, evidence-informed approaches to teaching and learning! 📰These types of stories highlight the strong relationship between academic engagement and achievement, social-emotional behaviour, and wellbeing. This is why we need integrated, rather than siloed, systems and supports in schools. I talked about this with The Conversation Australia + NZ: https://lnkd.in/gH_uUQxw 📈Our research in Multi Tiered Systems of Support is looking at new ways to align and integrate systems and supports in schools to help all students (and teachers) succeed! We can’t wait to share new findings and updates soon! Russell Fox PhD Bradley Bloomfield Karina Stocker Dr Nathaniel Swain

New publication in "Educational Policy" with Cheri Daily and Dr. Shawn Coon. We qualitatively examined the process leading to Utah's 2020 higher ed governance consolidation and the subsequent/on-going impacts on the state's 16 degree-granting institutions and technical colleges. Given the lull in successful state higher ed governance reform as well as the increased attention to such efforts nationally, this article is quite timely... despite us starting this work over three years ago. https://lnkd.in/g8aPxvn6

I'm thrilled to share that my perspective has been published today in EdNC.org, one of North Carolina's leading education journals. It’s an honor to contribute to the conversation about the vital role of community colleges. Community colleges may not always be seen as the most glamorous institutions—you won’t find people cheering for their football teams—but they play an incredibly important role in education and workforce development. They provide accessible, affordable education and hands-on training that truly make a difference in people's lives. As faculty members, many of us have experience in the real world. We bring practical, industry-specific knowledge to the classroom, bridging the gap between education and employment. In today’s world, where it seems like we disagree on just about everything, there’s one area we should all be united on: the need for strong funding and support for community colleges. They are the backbone of local communities and key to building a skilled workforce for the future. https://lnkd.in/esn-iveQ

American higher education is in crisis. Enrollment is down, public support is waning, and protests are disrupting campuses. High tuition fees prompt students to ask if college is worth it. Universities must restore trust by addressing rising costs, inefficiencies, and lack of intellectual diversity, with governing boards playing a crucial role in leading reforms. https://buff.ly/3XlFNr7
