I took SIX pages of notes at this year’s MSU Women’s Leadership Conference 😳 This is by far one of my favorite annual events, because it is wildly empowering to be surrounded by so many female leaders. Here are some of my biggest takeaways: 1) Every single day you get what you expect 2) People only listen if they ask to be told 3) A true community needs two drunks and a mayor 4) It’s just a cow 5) Ask more than you tell 6) Label the fears —> Accusation Audit —> Pause 7) Take up space 8) Recognize the noise, figure out where it’s coming from, and filter it through your whole self 9) Set the damn boundaries 10) Empathy without compassion = Burnout 11) It’s not “I win or I lose,” but “I win or I learn.” 12) Strong women are not born. We are made from the storms we’ve walked through.
