As soon as you pick up a PPS CF part, you notice that this material is different. Give it a tap and its stiffness and density causes it to vibrate like metal. This metallic sound is also caused by the crystalline structure of PPS, where well-defined molecular arrangements contribute to its distinctive acoustic properties. Listen below👂

Widely used in machining, molding, and additive manufacturing, PPS offers good mechanical properties, a high-temperature resistance compared to standard and engineering thermoplastics, and flame retardancy. However, its most desirable characteristic is its excellent chemical resistance. This article examines carbon fiber-reinforced PPS, highlighting its ability to deliver performance similar to metal and PEEK while offering lower temperature requirements and reduced costs. We just did our first prints with PPS-CF yesterday on the Factor 4 and are very impressed with the results so far.
