Check out Balluff Americas's latest innovation in position sensing technology: the Inductive Rapid Positioning System! This cutting-edge system offers lightning-fast continuous linear position measuring, with measuring rates exceeding 10 KHz—5-10 times faster than typical linear transducers! Plus, it boasts exceptional repeat accuracy down to 1 µm and minimal non-linearity of less than ±100 µm. But that's not all! With a compact, flat housing and short blind zones, installation is a breeze. Thanks to the built-in IO-Link, setup is simplified, and continuous condition monitoring is enabled, covering internal device temperature, vibration, inclination, operating hours, voltage, and signal quality. Don't miss out on the future of position-sensing technology. Yesterday, as a ctrlX World Partner, we had the opportunity to attend the Bosch Rexroth Industrial Partner Day. An absolutely successful and impressive event with many interesting presentations. It was nice to meet up in person again in the ctrlx community and exchange ideas. Of course, we took the opportunity to take a guided tour (big thanks to our Showmaster Dan Freisem) through the completely rebuilt Model Fab. Very informative about where our journey is going - it will be very exciting. In the Model Fab you will also find a great application with our BCM (Balluff Condition Monitoring Sensor) which records vibrations in 3 axes on a multi-axis system. The results are transmitted via IO-link to an IO-Link master and from there to the ctrlX PLC. This platform offers all the options for evaluating and displaying the data. Adjustable switching thresholds and alarm messages as well as transmission to other IT systems are easily possible. Many thanks to Christian Baar for implementing this use case This makes it easy to identify faults such as incorrect, too heavy or one-sided loading in order to prevent damage. In addition, changes in vibration due to mechanical wear can be identified early and eliminated in a planned manner. This fits perfectly with our goal of increasing OEE. Many thanks to everyone involved for this great event #ctrlxautomation #Partnerschaften #Balluff #IO_Link #automation #ConditionMonitoring

Figuring out how #pressure is distributed over the surface of a #pouch #cell in a jig can be a real challenge, but it is an important step in figuring out cell failure mode, or improving reproducibility. The CompreCell Pouch cell fixture applies a very uniform pressure to the sample, but up until now we had no good way of quantifying that in #operando. I had the opportunity to use a Tekscan pressure mapping sensor to #visualize how the #force is distributed on to a pouch cell in the CompreCell Pouch. This was done in a collaboration with CMV Hoven GmbH, who came to rhd instruments GmbH & Co. KG to introduce the system and do some tests together. We had three main goals with this small project: 1. To quantify how uniform the pressure distribution is in the CompreCell Pouch. 2. To verify that the TekScan setup works well together with the CompreCell Pouch + CompreDrive/CompreFrame system. 3. To measure some real-world data where we could follow the pressure distribution on a pouch cell in operando during cycling. I'm happy to say that the tests were successful - the pressure mapping setup works very well together with both the CompreDrive and CompreFrame systems, and you can get some really useful additional data out of it. We cycled a #lithium #ion #battery in both constant volume and constant pressure mode, while mapping the pressure online. You can read all the details of the results in this new application note. Also: CMV Hoven will be exhibiting at The Battery Show Europe in Stuttgart next week (Booth 4-B78), and the CompreFrame + CompreCell Pouch + TekScan pressure mapping sensor setup will be there for demonstration! So if you're attending, why not visit their booth and try out the system with your own hands!
