Driving for teens is a big freedom they take on. It's also a very big responsibility. They are responsible for themselves, passengers and others on the road. Limiting the number of passengers is just one way crashes can be reduced. #teendriving #safedriving #defensivedriving #teen #driving #reducerisk #roadsafety #behindthewheel #driving

We sat down with our office manager, Amy, to discuss the tips she gives her teens when driving. She said, "As a mom, I know firsthand the importance of keeping our teens safe on the road. That's why I make sure to sit down with my children and have those heart-to-heart talks about defensive driving. We discuss the significance of controlling speed, using turn signals like it's second nature, and always keeping a safe distance from the car in front. I remind them that driving isn't just about getting from point A to point B—it's about staying aware, anticipating other drivers' moves, and being proactive to avoid accidents. It's a journey we take together, one lesson at a time, to ensure they're confident and responsible behind the wheel." 🚗💨 Share this post with a parent or teenager to remind them to be a safe driver. I'm begging parents to please make sure your kids understand the rules of the road, the amount of people allowed in your car along the damage & pain you can cause to not only yourself, but others. Please help spread the message, it only takes 3 seconds to change your & 3 seconds to end someone else's. Driving is a privilege!!!! #highwaysafety #drivereducation #prevention #slowdown #moveover #phonesdown #itsthelaw #comehomealive

With more time on the road and fewer routines the 100 days between Memorial Day and Labor Day are considered to be the "100 Deadly Days of Summer" for teen drivers. Be an active participant in educating teens to recognize the dangers associated with reckless driving habits. Before hitting the road, teens should ensure they are fully prepared, their vehicle is in optimal condition, and they are well-versed in traffic laws and their implications for non-compliance. #TeenDriving #SummerSafety

A PEDESTRIAN’S FRUSTRATION, SORROW & RAGE Or…. IN THE BELLY OF THE MOTONORMATIVE BEAST I love my 5-minute neighborhood lifestyle (yes, most days of the week I live a walkable #5minuteneighborhood lifestyle in our current urban quarter). But what I don’t love is the CONGESTION. I also don’t love the often impatient and aggressive driver behavior. Drivers who don’t have the decency to wait a few damn seconds for pedestrians to clear the crosswalk before they drive through. So interestingly, while my mostly neighborhood based life brings me so much joy and practicality, this aspect of the environment brings so much anxiety. I am frequently crossing the street with young children and having to be so hyper vigilant as it is obvious many (many, not all) drivers simply DO NOT CARE about pedestrian safety. It’s exhausting. There is apparently a law that drivers cannot drive through the crosswalk when people are walking or rolling through it. But drivers break this law ALL THE TIME. If you want the proof I can provide dozens upon dozens of photos of different circumstances and you can easily document hundreds of infractions per day if you post up on the sidewalk and document. With enforcement, I believe this behavior can change. But there is no enforcement. Someone locally here once shared with me a so-called joke people make. If you want to kill someone and get away with it here, just hit them with a car. What an f’d up “joke” 😡😡😡😡 There are many children living in our neighborhood but I almost never see kids crossing the road alone or in groups (as I do see in other neighbourhoods). Gee, I wonder why. Last year a teen girl was killed on our block by a driver who was not only turning on red but also speeding. The behavior of some drivers in complete disregard of those walking and rolling is truly unacceptable and horrible that they rarely seem to face penalty of any sort. #lawenforcement #roadsafety #trafficsafety #pedestrianfatality #pedestrianinjury #pedestriansafety

It only takes a second of driver inattention to cause a dangerous scenario. Teens are especially vulnerable to crashes due to inexperience. All drivers should pay attention and focus on safe driving. Learn More At: DoriSavesLives.org #DriveSafeForDori #PutItDown #SafetyFirst #SafeDrivingSavesLives
