It's not everyday you walk into a school and there's a crane on site. But yesterday at Meriden School, this is what happened! I was there to present insights from a study McCrindle had completed for them on their future and so I found a way to weave in the latest Rider Levett Bucknall RLB crane data from Q3 2024 into my presentation. This staff PD session was the launch of the results from our study and while we had plenty of great new content, I always like to present the context first. I heard someone say, 'If content is king, then context is God!' In Australia, there's 863 cranes, with 24 working on education projects. In the beautiful city of Sydney, 387 cranes are perched across the skyline. What does crane data reveal? I see indications of investment, infrastructure provision, changes in development types, dwelling type shifts, employment, and of course, contruction activity.
