Hello! I can't believe I get to share this news, but, last week System Era was acquired by Devolver Digital. I would have shared this news last week on the day it happened, but, instead I opted to take the time to feel all the feelings, spend time in Seattle with our studio, and really let the moment soak in. It's rare for this to happen in ones life and I wanted to be present. But... not today! Holy shit! System Era is now a first party developer for the best publisher in the business (I might be biased). If you're like me, you've played every or most games that Devolver has published because you know they're a mark of quality and support to the teams making those games. To me, Devolver is fearless, just like us. System Era is an ambitious studio who has thrived on punching above their weight. Creatively I am not one to tow the line and neither is System Era nor Devolver. Even now, at 50+ folks, we're punching above our weight with our next game. Now that we're with Devolver, that adds an incredible amount of rocket fuel to what we're capable of doing and gives first-party support to that ambition. System Era is no longer independent, and while some folks might wonder why we'd "give that up", we see it differently. As Brendan puts it in the blog post, "We don’t shed independence lightly. But with Devolver, we don’t think System Era is losing independence, we think it’s finding a home among a like-minded confederation of talented people, under a banner that is synonymous with the indie ethos, and we can’t wait to continue our journey, together." I'm really proud of System Era. We're far beyond whatever dreams or hopes we had and I couldn't be more excited to venture in to the unknown with System Era, Devolver, and everyone who enjoys what we do.

After 3 months of playing around with UE5, I have completed my cinematic project. I had a lot of fun doing this and Unreal Engine is one powerful piece of software. All visual elements are developed from scratch in Unreal with the obvious exception of the Quixel assets. Still have so much to learn though!
