Bullying goes against every child and young person’s right to respect and safety. It adversely impacts school safety and undermines the creation of a conducive learning environment. We call on learners not to cheer or laugh at a person who is being bullied but rather try to prevent bullying or report the incident to the principal or teacher. You can also contact the Department of Social Development’s Command Centre on 0800 428 428 to receive counselling and support from trained Social Workers or contact Childline SA by dialling 116 on your phone. #StopBullying #SchoolSafety #Umalusi

We would like to remind public and private TVET colleges and students in that sub-system that according to Government Gazette 49518 the NATED Report 190/191 N1-N3 programmes entered a phased-out period on 1 January 2024, with the last date of enrolment on the programmes being 31 December 2023. The DHET plans to have these programmes completely phased out in 2025. Any queries regarding the phasing out and the retained subjects must be directed to the DHET. #NationalExams2024 #MakoyaCertificates #ClassOf2024

The Umalusi Online Replacement Certificate system enables candidates to apply to replace their lost or damaged certificates. The system is meant to replace the certificate that was issue by Umalusi in the past. It is not meant to issue new certificates. The system DOES NOT accommodate applicants who need to correct their personal information on the already issued certificates, nor does it cater for applicants wanting to combine results. #NationalExams2024 #MakoyaCertificate #ClassOf2024

"Based on the report presented, I can report to the South African public that, by and large, the system is ready to administer the 2024 end of year national examinations. Umalusi applauds the efforts of the DBE, Provincial Departments of Education, IEB, SACAI and DHET for doing everything humanly possible to uphold the credibility and integrity of the examinations. The highlighted areas of concerns are not systemic and therefore will not put the overall credibility and integrity of the 2024 examinations in jeopardy. All the concerns have been brought to the attention of the relevant Heads of Department in the provinces and the Directors-General of the DBE and DHET, the CEOs of the IEB and SACAI for the corrective actions taken before the start of examinations." - Umalusi CEO, Dr Mafu Rakometsi. #NationalExams2024 #MakoyaCertificates #ClassOf2024
