Why is it important for local communities and businesses to support local NGOs? Local communities and businesses can play a crucial role in advancing the efforts of local NGOs. While international donors are essential, the support of businesses can significantly enhance the sustainability and effectiveness of grassroots organizations. Consider this, offering financial contributions or in-kind donations to local NGOs can directly support and address community needs and strengthen these organizations’ capacity to implement impactful projects. Also, forming partnerships and collaborations with local NGOs can extend their reach and effectiveness, helping to bridge resource gaps and enhance their outreach. Engaging with local NGOs fosters trust and relevance. By participating in project planning and implementation for example, local communities and businesses can help ensuring that initiatives truly address local issues. The contributions and engagement of local businesses are key to empowering these organizations and making a meaningful difference in the community. #CommunityEmpowerment #LocalBusinessImpact #SustainableDevelopment #GrassrootsSupport #EmpowerLocalChange #LocalImpact #CommunityTrust #BridgingResourceGaps

Why NGO's Matter More Than Ever Throughout my life, I’ve had the privilege of volunteering with several NGOs. These experiences have shaped my understanding of compassion, community, and resilience. NGOs operate at the grassroots level, addressing issues that are often overlooked by larger institutions. From providing quality education for underprivileged children to advocating and supporting healthcare, they tackle the problems that directly impact people’s lives. One of the things that continuously astonishes me is the unwavering dedication of NGO workers and volunteers. These are individuals driven not by profit, but by purpose. Their passion to make a positive change is inspiring. It reminds me that we all have the power to contribute, no matter how small our actions might seem. NGOs also serve as a bridge between communities and governments, raising awareness and pushing for policy changes. They give a voice to the marginalized, ensuring that every individual’s story is heard and addressed. However, NGO work is not without its challenges. Limited resources, political constraints, and sometimes even societal resistance can make their mission limited. In a world where so many issues can make us feel powerless, supporting NGOs gives me a sense of agency. Whether it’s through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading their message, there are countless ways we can all pitch in. I encourage everyone to find an NGO whose mission resonates with them and get involved. Trust me, the experience is life-changing. I am Egeonu Amarachi, the social impact advocate ❤️. I hope you got value from this. #SocialImpact #NGOs #Volunteer #Sdgs #HumanityFirst #Mdhumanitarianfoundation

If you're a not for profit/for purpose trustee please take a few minutes to fill out this survey seeking the views of community governors! The sector is so diverse in terms of organisational size, structure, type, focus area etc, so hearing from a wide range of voices is really important for representation. Community services and advocacy is super important to Aotearoa New Zealand's social, economic and environmental wellbeing - however it's voice is under-represented in decision making compared with its impact! Contributing to research by filling out surveys is one way to mitigate that issue. And the results will help Community Governance Aotearoa plan its services to support good governance. The survey closes 02 August 2024. The link is here: https://lnkd.in/gKcy6V2W Thanks in advance. Inclusion Education is a mission-led organisation. As a charity or ‘social business’ as I prefer to call ourselves, we are one of hundreds of thousands of mission-led organisations in the UK, contributing billions to GDP and employing around 4 million people. I am passionate about social value and it’s exciting to see many businesses, other than charities and social enterprises, becoming more values based and community focused. Businesses joining the mission-led movement, are creating jobs and opportunities where they’re desperately needed, empowering their staff, driving progress toward Net Zero, and sharing their expertise to benefit the community. It’s got to be the way forward for a healthy future for all. Have a read of the Business Plan for Britain by the Future Economy Alliance, who are campaigning to make mission-led way of working the national norm. I hope it inspires you! Let me know your thoughts… https://lnkd.in/eQyJH5hy #missionled #businessplanforbritain #futureeconomyalliance #makeadifference #ukinequality

Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or non-profit organizations (NPOs) play a crucial role in addressing social, economic, and environmental challenges. They provide vital services, advocate for marginalized communities, and work to drive positive change. NGOs help bridge the gap between governments, businesses, and local communities, working towards a more equitable and sustainable future for all. Businesses can support NGOs in various ways, including through financial contributions, in-kind donations, and volunteer programs. They can also partner with NGOs to create shared value initiatives, collaborate on community development projects, and help amplify the NGOs' messages through their marketing and communication channels. Additionally, businesses can support NGOs by adopting socially responsible and sustainable business practices, such as ethical sourcing, fair labor standards, and environmental stewardship. By working together, businesses and NGOs can create meaningful and lasting impact in addressing social and environmental issues.

The Movements’ Trust believes that social action is desperately needed in today’s world - people-powered solutions are essential way we can rise to the challenge presented by the climate and nature emergencies, as well as the threat of fragmented communities, a rising cost of living, pollution and lack of access to sustainable employment- movements like Autosafety - Uganda who take a practical and constructive approach to cutting vehicle emissions and improving communities. Social movements can respond swiftly to opportunity, represent communities and their specific needs, mobilise energy and strengthen democracy and economies - they offer something unique that we should protect, rather than forcing them to register as a charity in order to access funding. Community organisers and social movements are severely hampered by the barriers to funding that informal and unregistered entities face, particularly in their early stages - our mission is to partner with them, act as charity sponsor, and advocate for their work so they can access the funding they need, as well as to provide other support that maximises their effectiveness. Consider making a donation to the Movements Trust in order to get more funding to social movements movements like Autosafety Uganda https://lnkd.in/ezjV9jvs #climatecrisis #peoplepower #reformphilanthropy #movementbuilding #justtransition

We believe in creating places where people want to be, building new communities and strengthening existing ones who respect and cherish their environment. Here are six impactful ways to harness the power of community to boost your own sense of empowerment and contribute positively to those around you: 1) Explore existing communities or start your own to uncover new experiences and connections. 2) Learn from different generations to gain diverse perspectives and broaden your understanding. 3) Find fulfilment and connection through volunteering and supporting shared causes. 4) Join in on collaborative projects like community gardens or local art initiatives. 5) Get involved in causes you care about, whether it’s charity work or raising awareness. 6) Strengthen local ties by supporting and engaging with local businesses in your area. These practices not only enhance personal growth but can also inform how we design and manage spaces that serve our communities effectively. By integrating community feedback and supporting local initiatives, we can create environments that truly reflect and meet the needs of those who live and work in them.
