They call for civilians to be spared and the wounded cared for. By not picking a side, we build trust with all those fighting.  Our work is to limit peoples’ suffering, no matter who they are or what side of the fighting they are on. 🚨In today's world, the horrors of war remind us of our collective duty to uphold human dignity and the laws of war. Beyond the devastation of conflict itself, the deliberate violation of international laws and the commission of war crimes deepen this tragedy. What are the consequences for nations that disregard these laws? They face potential international sanctions, investigation by bodies like the International Criminal Court, and significant damage to their global reputation. Internationally, unity is crucial. Organizations such as the United Nations must ensure accountability and justice for these crimes. Education on the laws of war is vital, helping prevent future violations through awareness campaigns and support for affected communities. Together, we must advocate for justice and peace, because without justice, lasting peace remains elusive.

Today, when geopolitical tensions and ongoing conflicts exist, this day reminds us that peace is not merely the absence of war; it’s a dynamic process that involves respect for human rights, non-violence, justice, and solidarity. #worldinternationalpeaceday #peaceday #unpeaceday

I find it incredibly abominable that in the last 20 years, no, make that 50 years, that Western governments have saw it fit, in fact jumping at the chance, to deploy their 'Defence' forces into conflict zones based on paranoia (Communism) and lies (Iraq, WMD's), and yet we have 2 clear cases right now of nations engaging in war crimes, genocide and the flagrant disregarding of international law, and the best the West is willing to do is wave their finger (Russia) and continue to provide weapons to the other to further their illegal actions (Israel). As a result of this hypocrisy, innocent men, women and children continue to die, centuries of culture, history and places of meaning are destroyed and all we ultimately really do by enabling this to continue is to allow further seeds to be planted for the next round of conflict, destruction and murder that will surely come. - Have we not learned? - Where's the leadership, diplomacy, empathy and humanity? There's too much darkness right now - we need new lighthouses to emerge and guide us towards new paths and systems. #lighthouse #system

The value of justice is an integral part of peace. When any section of society, whether the powerful or the less powerful, the minority or the majority in communities, feels that their need for justice is unmet, conflict will certainly be triggered, and the fragile fabric of peace will be torn. On this International Day of Peace, the essence of the Rule of Law and equal access to justice for all people, regardless of their power strata, should be at the forefront of all discussions. The absence of justice is tantamount to the absence of peace. #internationalpeaceday!
