Who said rail is old and useless. The first phase of reintroducing regional and inter-regional passenger rail services using 'standardised' train sets has started. The second phase is using similar train sets initially between Auckland and Hamilton, within the Waikatio region and onto Tauranga. The third phase to link Hamilton and Palmerston North using similar train sets. https://lnkd.in/gbnzgpPz #rail #publictransport #sustainabletransport #passengertransport #railtravel #regionalrail #transitorienteddevelopment #connectingcommunities #nationalrailnetwork #railtravel #climatechange #passengerrail #nationalpublictransportnetwork #urbanrail #futureisrail #urbanplanning #urbantransportplanning #tourism #sustainabletourism

We appreciate your commitment and ongoing support to our short-rental accommodation industry, Victoria’s tourism industry and holidaymakers. This proposed tax threatens tourism, investor confidence, and will increase costs for all Victorians. At the Short Term Accommodation Association (STAAA), we will continue to advocate for evidence-based, fair, and justified regulations—not just in Victoria, but Australia-wide—ensuring the sustainability of our industry and protection of individual owner operators and small businesses across Australia. #SupportTourism #NoToShortStayLevy #FairRegulations #STAAA

We love our small size business, it allows us a #personal approach, #human and not standardized. We love #networking with other small size #businesses and we always ask for #support to our final #customers. We give support and we need support in a working #environment very competitive and tending to high large concentrations. What began as a trial just a few years before COVID has now evolved into a full-length diary of cruise ships gracing the shores of the Highlands. From single-figure visits to triple-figure arrivals per annum, these ships bring tourists from all corners of the globe to Scotland's majestic Highlands. This success story not only bolsters the local economy but also fuels the development of tourism infrastructure in the region. Due to constraints like the height of the Kessock Bridge and the tidal nature of Inverness port, the cruises cannot dock directly in Inverness. Instead, they dock at the deep-water port of Invergordon, where passengers embark on pre-organized tours via buses, vans, and private hire cars. #cruise #highlands #inverness

📹 🌟 At this morning’s Manitoba Chambers of Commerce #MBizBreakfast with Premier Wab Kinew (Government of Manitoba), we unveiled a new video on the benefits of tourism. Tourism is a big deal for Manitoba. It’s not just about the people who come to visit; it’s a vast industry that encompasses a wide variety of sectors, businesses, communities and the people who live here. 💵 Tourism generates over $340 million in annual provincial tax revenues that can support investment in other priorities like healthcare and education. 👨🏾🍳👩🏽💼 Tourism creates nearly 20,000 direct tourism jobs, with opportunities for skill development and career growth. 🏨Tourism drives our economy each year with $1.8 billion in visitor spending. Those dollars help our local businesses and our communities thrive. 🙌 Tourism celebrates what makes Manitoba special, highlighting our history, culture and natural beauty. It helps us appreciate our cultural roots and traditions and it’s a chance to showcase what makes our province unique. From the way tourism can stimulate the economy to improving our quality of life, tourism has a significant impact. Learn more ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eTz3YGhH #ThisIsTourism #ExploreMB #TravelandTourism

What would be the scenario if there could be a private train system with stations across all important destinations in the country? A fully automated, well managed system used for commercial and tourism purposes. It should be a revenue generator for the government and private sector investors. Charges to customers? Value-for-money not premium.

Sometimes your tour has big negative impacts that you can't avoid. (internal flights, taking a private bus for transportation, visiting major attractions owned by multi-national companies- e.g. the money from the tickets doesn't stay locally) However you can do your best to restore the balance by adding in as many positive impacts as you can. For example, explaining to your guests how to use public transportation. Even if the tour doesn't actually utilize public transportation, the guests can take advantage once they've finished with the tour. https://buff.ly/43xKosQ #responsibletourism #tourguides #responsibletravel #tourguide #toursandactivities
