We're proud to launch the Anticipation Hub second global overview report which presents dome encouraging trends in #AnticipatoryAction during 2023. However, with nearly 282 million people experiencing high level of acute hunger, we need and must do more. Scaling up #AnticipatoryAction requires more #fuelmoney, better #collaboration and #partnerships between #humanitarian and #development actors.

❝We have tried our best to mobilise resources from domestic sources as much as fiscal space allows. But it is not enough to address the adverse effects of #ClimateChange without forgetting development programs.❞ Tanzania 🇹🇿 highlights why the New Collective Quantified Goal on #ClimateFinance (#NCQG) in the trillions 💰💰💰 is urgently needed for developing countries: they are already paying for the #ClimateCrisis and this is undermining and rolling back their development at the 6th High-Level Ministerial Dialogue on #ClimateFinance on Day 4 of #COP29.

Our immediate global tasks should be #ClimateActions #PovertyEradication, & to end global #Hunger. Engaging in endless #wars & #violence must not be our priority. We were very honored to be part of NDC Partnership 's side event at #COP29 titled "Commitment to Action – Successes, Challenges & Lessons from Implementing NDC WASH in Tanzania" on 12 November 2024. Dr. Sixbert S. Mwanga, our Executive Director talked about what roles the government, private sector and NGOs can play to ensure the successful implementation of the NDCs and achievement of the #WASH targets. His statements were:      "To enhance the role of WASH within the NDCs we need the government to work together with the Civil Societies and the Private sectors"    "With regards to resource mobilization, the government might mobilize resources to ensure the right infrastructures, the question remains on promoting innovation, and this is where the Private Sector plays a great role in enhancing technologies that provide opportunities for NDCs implementation."    "Then the CSOs are obliged to ensure that the communities are at the center of the implementation of the NDCs. The CSOs play a great role in building the capacity of relevant stakeholders to ensure localization of the NDCs at the grassroots level from different communities such as coastal and inland."       The Event was hosted by Tanzania and co-organized with United Nations Children Fund, WaterAid Tanzania , and Tanzania - Ministry of Water.  Here you can find the whole event: COP29: https://lnkd.in/eRER88Kw Robert K.M. I believe that innovative policies are essential tools for reimagining the future we desire. This is why I am dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of youth engagement in policy-making. Since Climate Change knows no borders, affecting every nation, communities & individuals, impacting food security, health, migration & peace ! Since it is a global challenge that threatens the well-being of all people, regardless of geography ! Since it undermines fundamental human rights, including the right to health, food, water, and shelter ! Since it poses one of the greatest security threats of our time, exacerbating conflicts, displacing populations, and straining resources, there is an urgent need for United Nations agencies to accelerate Cross-Sectoral Collaboration which will result in integrated solutions. The Climate Security Mechanism is a good example of how UN Environment Programme, UNDP, UN Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (DPPA) , United Nations Peacekeeping have united their complementary expertise in the areas of peacebuilding, sustainable development, envrionment, political & programmatic work to integrate climate security analysis and action . From translating words into action, from an initial focus on awareness raising & advocacy to enhancing field support so as to foster integrated gender-sensitive climate security risk assessments, turning findings into prevention & management approaches to strengthen resilience of states and communities. Since we are already past the "Make or Break" year (as termed by António Guterres) of reconciling human activities with nature ....... My hope and dream is to see more UN agencies actively join the CSM, UN Women helping with the Gender-Responsive Climate Risk Assessments, UN-Habitat (United Nations Human Settlements Programme) helping with Urban Risk Assessments and Resilience Planning, IOM - UN Migration helping with Climate-Induced Migration Data and Risk Analysis,not leaving behind UNICEF ,International Labour Organization,World Health Organization,FAO,UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency , UNESCO and other entities which have an integral role to play.
