Rachael Young, formerly Rachael Nesselrodt, has been a real HV all-star for many years. She has helped us establish procedures, train new hires and get HV's Case management to where it is today. She clearly loves and cares for all her patients and clients and brings a high level of professionalism to her work everyday, a real testament to what we call "The HV Way". You might be wondering, how does HV Handle Case management? We'll tell you! When an employee experiences an injury or illness, they call our 24/7 hotline. An operator answers the call to gather general information, and our nursing staff is promptly notified to follow up. Our nurses then contact the employee to collect detailed information about the incident. Based on the situation, a treatment plan is developed. This may include first aid instructions, scheduling telemedicine appointments with our doctors, or coordinating care with clinics or ERs as needed. We can also order diagnostic tests directly, reducing the need for clinic visits and helping to keep costs and recordable incidents down. If external treatment is required, we can request medical records to ensure proper follow-up care. We continue to monitor and support the employee until they recover. Clients receive detailed reports, giving them all necessary documentation for their records. Additionally, we are available to answer questions about workers' compensation, injuries, or illnesses. For new projects or companies, we vet clinics, hospitals, dentists, eye doctors, and therapeutic massage providers to ensure a clear plan is in place for external care when needed. Our service operates 24/7, including holidays and weekends, providing consistent and comprehensive support. #EmployeeHealth #WorkplaceSafety #InjuryManagement #24HourSupport #Telemedicine #OccupationalHealth #WorkersCompensation #HealthAndSafety #InjuryCare #EmployeeWellbeing #CostSavings #OnTheJobCare #FirstAidSupport #WorkplaceInjuries #RecoverySupport

Home healthcare nurses handling interactions with the patient's dog. Let's explore how I-messages can communicate your point clearly to the patient, minimizing the risk of offense or confusion. A good I-message example is: "...When your dog roams freely indoors..." "...I feel concerned he might perceive me as a threat..." "...and I may not be able to care for you effectively! First, describe the problem. Second, express your feelings about it. Third, state the consequence!" Be safe!

Using locum tenens professionals at your hospital/medical facility is far more than filling random gaps in scheduling. Nope. It’s how your employees feel on their Sunday morning rounds when your perm hospitalist knows he finally has some real backup if his children get sick. It’s also that moment when you director of your emergency department stops obsessively worrying about next month’s schedule. As well as when your anesthesiologist knows without a doubt that she can attend her daughter’s graduation without guilt. And let’s not forget: it’s also about how your neurologist doesn’t have to check his phone every 10 minutes during his vacation. Staffing with locums is more than just a terrific scheduling solution. It’s also ensuring life-changing moments for your permanent staff. Finally, at 3 a.m., knowing there’s reliable patient coverage is far more than “staffing metrics.” It’s human dignity, because you’re treating your healthcare pros like people – with families, personal lives, worries, hopes, dreams, etc. – first. Locum tenens staffing support: it’s peace of mind in scrubs. #LocumTenensRecruiter #HealthcareStaffing #LocumTenens

This is an excellent way to communicate concerns in a thoughtful and non confrontational manner.
‼️Do you CUS at work? ‼️ Yes, I know it looks misspelled above-but it’s not. To CUS in the healthcare setting is to use a set of safety steps that raise concern. The goal is to help better facilitate communication, advocacy and teamwork. C: I’m Concerned U: I’m Uncomfortable S: This is a Safety issue Recently, a patient in slight respiratory distress came to the ED. She ended up needing multiple different medications and to be placed on BiPAP. She was tolerating it well, until she wasn’t. I went to the physician and explained I was concerned with how she was looking. He said that she was on BiPAP now and we needed to give it a chance to work. I told him I was uncomfortable with the change in vitals, her appearance and that it was now becoming a safety issue with her airway. He looked up at me and knew what I had just done. I had CUSed at him. We have immense mutual respect for one another and he knows I don’t CUS often and don’t do it without reason. He got up, went to the patients room and said, ‘I agree. Let’s go ahead and prepare to intubate her’. In the hospital setting you may hear a good amount of the traditional type of cussing (especially in the ED), but CUSsing isn’t always necessarily a bad thing. It may even help save a life!
