UNDP, It's alarming to realize that over 400 million tonnes of plastic waste are generated annually, with less than 10% being recycled. This #plasticfreejuly, let's commit to meaningful action against plastic pollution. By reducing our plastic consumption and supporting sustainable alternatives, we can pave the way for a healthier planet and future generations. Every small change matters – from using reusable bags to opting for eco-friendly packaging. Together, we can make a significant impact and create a more sustainable world for all. Let's turn awareness into action and strive for a cleaner, greener tomorrow.

Short and powerful UNDP #Plasticpollution like other types of pollution is increasing because: 1. People don’t know its effect. 2. There’s no provision for proper disposal in many countries. However, we can change the narrative by: 1. Supporting brands that use sustainable and reusable packaging like cartoon, bags. 2. Put the pressure on the government to enact policies that support reuse, reduce and recycle in form of tax and other ways. 3. Promote awareness on how it affect life on land and under water. I heard Germany 🇩🇪 gave citizens a token for bringing plastic for recycling, that’s a wonderful initiative.

It is so sad that we are not willing to organise a proper, effective and efficient collection and return logistics system. We need the required motivational incentives to be put in place and that is a question of political will. Unfortunately it is not there.

Cute concept. We don't need a 4th grade level initiative. How about UNDP conducts an analysis of all weaknesses of the Plastic Industry, and UNDP's most effective areas of leverage. Step up!
