Years of conflict and mismanagement of public resources increased the disconnect between #Nepal’s central and local governments. ADB and financing partners supported the government in rebuilding the public institutions and reforming systems and processes at the local level. The agenda of the ICANN80 Policy Forum held in Kigali - Rwanda has been very dense in terms of the diversity of topics discussed. Once again, from LACTLD we offer a report in which we try to summarise the main discussions of interest to the ccTLD community. These include : 💡 The creation of a Policy Gap WG aimed at further analysing ccNSO policy gaps and advising the Council on how to address the issue; 💡 Progress on issues such as Universal Acceptance. There will soon be a UA survey targeting ccTLDs; 💡 The spaces that the ccNSO continues to host to discuss global processes and their impact on the Technical Community, such as WSIS+20 and the Global Digital Compact; 💡The discussions on DNS Abuse, analyzing the experience of the gTLDs with the Amendments to the Contracted Party Agreements (RA and RAA Agreements) just implemented in April this year. Access to information is a cornerstone for promoting transparency, enhancingaccountability, and driving good governance globally. In Pakistan, the Right to Information (RTI) laws have been enacted at the federal and provincial levels. These laws have played a crucial role in empowering citizens, fostering democratic governance and ensuring citizen oversight, transparency and accountability. However, important challenges remain in ensuring the effective implementation of RTI laws, bridging the gap between policy and practice, and strengthening public demand for transparency. The Pakistan Transparency Forum 2024 aims to explore how access to information can be leveraged to improve governance frameworks and combat corruption while promoting civic engagement. Bringing together a diverse group of policymakers, civil society representatives, international stakeholders, and academics, this forum will serve as a platform to discuss global best practices, reflect on decade of Pakistan’sachievements, and highlight areas for improvement. The world is facing a debt crisis. The most affected are the poorest countries because they spend more on debt repayments than on education, health and social security. The importance of shedding the light on public debt and its impact on the overall economic situation of a country cannot be overlooked.
