The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Goodwill Ambassador Isha Sesay shares how giving birth to her child opened her eyes to the mistreatment experienced by Black women during their #pregnancy. “We find ourselves living in a world with unacceptable high rates of morbidity and mortality for women and girls of African descent,” she explains. Isha urges action to close the gap which leaves so many of them vulnerable to preventable deaths in childbirth. Becoming a mother changes a woman’s life, but it shouldn’t end it.
