Empowered by Janaagraha's vision, I am not just a witness but an engaged citizen, strategically contributing to sustainable city #systems while embodying the vibrant culture of #ownership, #urgency, and #excellence. Contributing to the Vision: Having undergone the enlightening Orientation and Induction Program at Janaagraha, my perception of city systems and urban life has evolved from mere criticism to active engagement. The realization that I am not just an observer but an empowered citizen capable of influencing positive change has sparked a renewed sense of purpose. My alignment with Janaagraha's vision became apparent as I delved into the sessions, particularly the insights shared by COO Sapna Karim. The emphasis on scaling reforms, strategic partnerships, and sustainable models resonated with me, compelling me to contribute strategically. I am now actively involved in design thinking for city systems, ensuring my work aligns seamlessly with Janaagraha's mission to bring about positive policy reforms. The thematic areas focused on climate and health have become my canvas for change. By exploring intersections and developing frameworks for sustainable city systems, I am confident that my contributions will have a meaningful impact on the quality of air, water, food, and energy in urban environments. Culture Codes Coming Alive: Janaagraha's unique culture codes have not only been outlined but have truly come alive during the sessions. The commitment to taking ownership, applying systems thinking, and practicing urgent patience has created a work environment that is both nurturing and empowering. As I navigate through my projects, the culture of engagement and constructive collaboration is evident. The emphasis on depth and excellence drives me to approach every task with a commitment to delivering the best possible outcomes. Taking ownership of my responsibilities while embracing the core values of care and urgency has become second nature. The culture codes have not only influenced my professional interactions but have become an integral part of my personal ethos. Whether deep diving into analytical tasks or engaging constructively with colleagues and partners, I find myself embodying the principles espoused by #Janaagraha's culture. In essence, my journey with Janaagraha is not just a professional undertaking; it is a personal commitment to cultivating positive change in city systems, and the vibrant culture of Janaagraha serves as a guiding light in this transformative endeavor.

100% agree! Active streets and plazas with people exchanging ideas , products and strengthening social connection. Markets hosted in public spaces help us move away from transactional economy to a place base economy. It’s the best strategy to fight against social isolation and enable economies and places that include everyone. We need to plan for a square or market in every neighborhood. #placemaking #culturalplanning #inclusivespaces #inclusiveeconomies #publicmarkets #marketcities

Founder ShoprSmart.com @ Erevu Ventures | Passionately Championing ESG growth | New Business Development |
🚀 Growth, Re Fuel, Service, Grow 🚀 After a period of reflection and strategic planning, we had to reevaluate our growth story! 🌱💼 In the past few years, we experienced unprecedented growth, but as any engine running at full speed knows, maintenance and refueling are essential. We took a step back, evaluated our strategies, and invested in an overhaul to ensure our long-term success. I'm incredibly proud to introduce our newest venture: ShoprSmart, a chain of convenience stores located in total of 8 tech parks across three cities. These were built in the last 8 months. With 3 more to open in the next 15 days. These stores offer a wide range of everyday essentials, from biscuits and beverages to hygiene products, all in one convenient location. Our flagship store at #worldtradecentre is a testament to our commitment to innovation and sustainability. With over 7 tons of recycled plastic waste used in its construction, it's not only a retail space but also a symbol of our dedication to reducing our environmental footprint. I want to extend my gratitude to the incredible team at Erevu Ventures and our partners at UX9 projects for their hard work and dedication in bringing this vision to life. Together, we've created a space that combines retail, dining, and entertainment, setting a new standard for convenience stores everywhere. The store is 6000sq ft and I'm going be updating as much as possible on this project in the next few weeks. As we embark on this next phase of growth, I'm confident that Erevu Ventures will continue to thrive, with a solid bottom line and a commitment to making a positive impact on the world. As for fueling this engine. Don't ask. The grey hair has started popping up all over my head. Working towards converting this soon to a perpetual motion engine. Does your tech park need a convenience store? Refer ShoprSmart a tailor made solution for tech parks Stay tuned for more updates on our journey! #ErevuVentures #ShoprSmart #Sustainability #Innovation #ConvenienceRetail #Growth.

We can learn from other countries that have done high density development. Like Hong Kong, Japan or India. High density land use ideas like underground parking storage racks and capsule hotels are in use there. The greenfield site of Chandigarh was planned and built in 1949. Seems the 50’s were the heyday of urban planning. Not just Chandigarh but others like Don Mills in Toronto that have grown into a very successful community hubs. We’ve forgotten how to plan complete communities and have become very good at urban sprawl. The assumption is to feed off the thriving community hub and build around it rather than to establish new intentional community hubs. We’ve resigned ourselves to bedroom communities and then ponder why we need to commute everywhere. Big box stores have replaced the old village general store which not only was the local store but the social hub often including mailboxes. Now big box stores are ceding to online. A reimagined general store would not just provide convenience store items but could be a physical “Amazon-style” automated micro-warehouse. Fulfilling orders but also predicting local demand for popular items so they can be in stock when people visit. Repeat customer demand means there would be local product reviews and revive the art of local knowledge at the general store.

Does the Connection Between a Shopping Center, Sustainability, and Urban Nature Sound Familiar? 🌱 This is the story of one shopping mall with rather reasonable ambitions... to pave the way to the future with a far-reaching sustainability vision and become a global role model by 2028. No small feat, right? All this and more will be elaborated on here later. Until then, I am excited to share that the amazing Orli Hefetz introduced us today to a real superwoman, Liat Zimring from IBM, the founder, and chair of the WELL BEING Forum for welfare managers, serving for the past 15 years(!). Our goal is to connect more and more companies with our impact model and to enchant everyone with the magic of a single impact space that combines community, society, environment, and economy alongside profits and business advancement in a way you’ve never seen before - Dizengoff Center, Tel Aviv. Huge thanks to my beloved Kholoud Abu ahmad for developing brilliant content. And no matter what topic I write about, it pales compared to the surreal reality we find ourselves in. So, please, for heaven’s sake, come back already. With every small success, as well as every failure, I am thinking of you 💔🎗️ #Sustainability #UrbanNature #CommunityImpact #CorporateWelfare #DizengoffCenter #TelAviv #BusinessGrowth #IBM #WELLBEINGForum #Innovation #FutureVision

40% of highstreets will need to be reinvented… (In the next 5 years according to The Guardian). There’s no escaping the fact that demand for physical retail is slowing, despite the continuous development of shopping arcades. Even today I came across a development site in Covent Garden which just promises ‘new retail opportunities’ I understand the promise, but I worry we’re only going to get the same old thing. _____ Based on trends and demands i've noticed across social and through conversations - the opportunities I see rising in popularity are: - ‘Eat-tertainment’ venues partnering activities with food halls - Physical exercise based clubs (running clubs in particular) - Commercial therapy and mindfulness spaces - Cold plunge, Sauna and spa therapy - Green spaces and attractive areas - Multi-layered co-working spaces And generally across the board, more places to meet others and foster community. _____ I believe that physical retail and spending is more likely to increase as a byproduct of bringing people together in more organic and positive ways. Hopefully these new retail opportunities in Covent Garden are not just the same old thing we’ve seen, and instead have human needs front and centre of their existence. What are you dying to see more of on our highstreets?
