Our Role as Individuals in Achieving #SDG7: #Affordable and #Clean_Energy Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG 7) aims to ensure everyone's access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy. While governments and industries play a major role in energy transition, individuals also play a crucial part in driving progress toward this goal. How Can We Contribute? 1. #Energy_Conservation • Reduce electricity consumption by turning off lights and appliances when not in use. • Use energy-efficient appliances, LED bulbs, and smart meters to track and reduce usage. • Improve home insulation to minimise energy loss and decrease reliance on heating or cooling. 2. Switching to #Renewable_Energy • Where possible, opt for solar panels or purchase green energy from suppliers. • Support community-driven renewable energy projects. 3. #Sustainable_Transportation • Use public transport, cycle, or walk instead of relying on fossil-fuel-powered vehicles. • Consider electric or hybrid vehicles to reduce carbon emissions. 4. #Advocacy_and_Awareness • Promote awareness about clean energy solutions within your community. • Encourage businesses, schools, and governments to invest in sustainable energy sources. • Support policies that promote clean energy access and energy equity. 5. #Smart_Consumer_Choices • Buy products from companies committed to renewable energy and sustainability. • Reduce dependence on energy-intensive goods and services. 6. #Supporting_Innovation • Invest in clean energy startups or contribute to research in renewable energy. • Adopt digital tools that optimise energy efficiency in daily life. Three wind farms will be built on forested land in Poland, financed by Danish investor Eurowind Energy. This is a pilot project that could revolutionize the approach to renewable energy sources in Poland. The planned windmills, with masts reaching 250 meters in height, are expected to provide energy self-sufficiency for the State Forests and benefits for local municipalities. 🌬️ However, the construction of wind farms in forests is also a controversial topic. What will be the real consequences for the local ecosystem, including birds and bats? How to balance wind energy development with nature conservation? 🌳 National Forests assures that the project will be carried out responsibly - with monitoring of environmental impacts and the use of modern technologies to protect birds from collisions. Solar energy is an underrated hedge against electricity rate increases. - U.S. electricity prices rose 3.6% over the last 12 months, outstripping the broader inflation rate of 3.2%, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Tuesday. And experts say there is little chance for near-term consumer relief. - Transmission costs and volatile fuel prices are the primary drivers of higher power bills, according to Tyson Slocum, director of Public Citizen’s Energy Program. 💚 💚 🌍 🌎 🌏 Since years, we’ve embarked on a sustainability journey to reduce impact on environment, with great focus on energy, greenhouse gases, water, and waste. Within our long-term program to reduce the energy consumption by installing renewable energy systems in our global manufacturing network, we’ve finalized the installation of a photovoltaic system of over 4MW in Rodano (Milan) Olon site. This is a major step forward along the transition to sustainable energy sources.   With an estimated production capacity of 6.5GWh/year, the photovoltaic system will allow the generation of clean electricity with ZERO CO2 emissions. This achievement will significantly reduce the ecological footprint of our operations, allowing us to yearly save the emission of tons of CO2 - 2000Ton/ year. This initiative marks our concrete commitment towards the decarbonization of production.   We will continue to actively pursue projects and initiatives that promote environmental sustainability and the transition to a low-carbon economy.
