The evolving collaboration between the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE) and Indonesia marks a significant milestone in the global movement towards a sustainable, low-carbon, and socially inclusive future. Gita Sabharwal’s insights on the vital role of PAGE in fostering Indonesia’s Circular Economy Roadmap and Action Plan underscore the importance of multi-sectoral partnerships in driving meaningful change. As we move closer to achieving the goals outlined in the United Nations' Sustainable Development Agenda, the implementation of circular economy strategies is crucial in reducing waste, conserving resources, and ensuring that economic growth does not come at the cost of the environment. Indonesia’s focus on aligning its national strategies with PAGE’s updated framework is an inspiring example of how countries can integrate green economic principles into policy-making, ensuring that sustainability is at the heart of development. The new initiative to build a job-rich, low-carbon economy will not only reduce environmental impacts but also provide economic opportunities for communities, enhancing the resilience of both ecosystems and local economies. The integration of circular economy principles will undoubtedly help Indonesia transition to a more sustainable future, setting a precedent for other nations in the region and beyond. This collaboration offers an invaluable model for how international organizations and national governments can work hand in hand to support countries in achieving their sustainable development goals. As PAGE continues to provide critical guidance and support, we look forward to seeing how this partnership evolves and how it can inspire other nations to adopt similar approaches to green economic growth. #SustainableDevelopment #GreenEconomy #CircularEconomy #LowCarbon #InclusiveGrowth #UN #PAGE #Indonesia #GlobalPartnership #ClimateAction #SDGs

Indonesia’s green economy initiative aiming for the skies! Scroll to learn more ⬇⬇ 🌴 Indonesia’s President-elect, Prabowo Subianto, is launching an ambitious green economy initiative to raise $65 billion by 2028. This will be achieved by selling carbon credits from environmental projects such as rainforest preservation, reforestation, and peatland restoration. These projects aim to protect ecosystems while generating sustainable economic growth. 🎯 A new regulatory body will oversee these efforts and ensure alignment with the Paris Agreement. This regulator will establish a “special mission vehicle” to manage the green fund and carbon-offsetting projects, driving emissions reductions and positioning Indonesia as a leader in the global green economy. ⚡ By leveraging its vast natural resources, Indonesia is setting a precedent for sustainable development, combining economic gains with environmental responsibility. The revenue from carbon credits will play a vital role in reducing emissions and boosting the economy. ☀ At Sustainiam, we support businesses in participating in the growing carbon credit market. Our platform offers tools like ECal to measure emissions, CiP to issue green certifications and EmX to trade carbon credits. As Indonesia leads in sustainability, companies can join the global effort through our solutions. #greeneconomy #carboncredits #climateaction #sustainability #indonesia #renewableenergy #ecoinitiative #carbonoffsetting

It was a busy week earlier this month, in Jakarta, where I had the privilege of attending sessions with AACM and Abatable. The discussions highlighted ASEAN’s immense potential in carbon markets, with the ability to potentially unlock $3 trillion in cumulative revenue by 2050. This growth stems from reducing gigatonnes of CO₂ annually through methods like biochar, REDD+, and blue carbon. The opportunities aren’t just environmental; they’re economic, too, with projections of 13.7 million green jobs being created across the region. The report emphasized six key actions: building robust regulatory frameworks, fostering institutional capacity, aligning standards, boosting public awareness, and leveraging Article 6 for international cooperation. With its natural resources and market potential, ASEAN can lead in high-integrity carbon projects, driving both climate action and economic growth. It was a pleasure meeting Juan Carlos Arredondo Brun, Abatable, and the entire team from ASEAN Alliance on Carbon Markets and Equatorise .
