EU and UNIDO partner to advance TVET in Liberia 🤝 Ambassador Nona Deprez, the EU Ambassador to Liberia, and key stakeholders recently met with President Joseph Nyumah Boakai Sr. to discuss the future of Liberia's Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector, including the proposed Liberia TVET Commission (LiTCOM). This discussion highlighted the importance of advancing Liberia’s TVET system. 💪👩🎓 Through #YouthRising, the #EuropeanUnion and #UNIDO are working together to expand access to demand-driven #TVET for young Liberians to enhance their employability and boost economic growth. With over €50 million in funding from the EU, 20 schools across all 15 counties are being upgraded to deliver high-quality vocational education. 📚Since 2018, #YouthRising has trained TVET instructors, TVET staff and government officials, improved infrastructure, installed modern equipment, and developed curricula in 14 key trades such as automotive mechanics, carpentry, electrical installation, ICT, fashion technology, heavy equipment, and welding. In the coming years, the project will continue to empower vulnerable and disadvantaged youth, including women and individuals with disabilities, ensuring inclusive growth and opportunity. #SkillsDevelopment #TVETforAll #EUinLiberia #SwedeninLiberia

The Cambodian government has emphasized technical and vocational education and training (TVET) as a vital career pathway for the country's workforce to upgrade their skills to higher-quality work to achieve upper-middle-income country status by 2030. However, attracting more students to TVET institutions, especially those from impoverished and vulnerable families, remains challenging. To do so, a monthly stipend of 280,000 riels (nearly $70) is required if they enrol in TVET programs. The Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training targets 1.5 million young people for this enrollment push. Read more: https://lnkd.in/guAwvS48
