INFP, INFJ, ISTJ? Reserved and socially withdrawn? Being an introvert in the work world is definitely something that I had to navigate. I don't like too many labels, but apparently they have acronyms now for certain types of introverts now. Who knew? I am definitely not the most shy person you probably ever met, but no one would say I am gregarious. Yet, when I started my first jobs as a RD, I didn't realize how many people I needed to speak to during the day. It was constant-talking to administrators, clinical nutrition managers, social services, nurses, dietary managers, etc. I knew that it was crucial to make sure I took care of my patients/residents. So I ended up making sure I got to know everyone I needed to communicate with as quickly as possible. And felt comfortable calling facilities, dialysis clinics, etc. Now I would say that I am completely different compared to day 1 (at least in a work setting and business). I know that the people I take care of rely on me to speak up for them and I am happy to do it to make sure they are getting the best nutrition care. 💜 ------------------------------------- Hi I'm Kim My team and I 💜 providing the best nutrition care for your communities. ⏩ expert nutrition professionals (Registered Dietitians, Executive Chefs, Certified Dietary Managers/Food Service Directors, Registered Dietetic Technicians) ⏩ all 50 states ⏩ personalized services for your specific facility #healthcare #education #university #longtermcare #seniorliving #hospitals #nutrition #staffing

These jobs had to be thought of and developed. -diabetes educator -weight loss dietitian -dialysis dietitian -dietitians that regulate food, participate in food laws -school dietitian (just to make a few) I am so grateful for all of them. I know that there are so many doing wonderful work. YET ... I wish these jobs were not needed (or as needed). Until 50-55 years ago, no one heard of these jobs. Then the American diet changed. Changed for the worse. Dietitians will always be needed, maybe just in different facets. We can change things around, make people healthier before they develop problems. And not be afraid of whether we have a job. We shouldn't bank of people getting sicker for job security. Until then, our nutrition professionals are here to help with post diagnosis care while we still stive to provide preventative care. ------------------------------------------------ Hi I'm Kim President of Nutrition Remedy RDs | Staffing Services My team and I 💜 providing the best nutrition care for your communities. ⏩ expert nutrition professionals (Registered Dietitians, Executive Chefs, Certified Dietary Managers/Food Service Directors, Registered Dietetic Technicians) ⏩ all 50 states ⏩ personalized services for your specific facility #healthcare #education #university #longtermcare #seniorliving #hospitals #nutrition #staffing

I still don't get it. There has to be a better way. Gosh, after years and years of dealing with multiple state licenses for myself and employees I feel like I am officially done (not really though 😉) Don't get me wrong. I truly believe that states should be checking who is working in their state and make sure that no disciplinary actions have been taken against the healthcare professional. But at the same time, some states take forever (some are 3 months) and require for somethings to be sent my snail mail. I feel like I live in the Stone Age sometimes. Luckily, some states are starting a compact with other states where if a dietitian is licensed in a certain state then they may be able to work in another state without a license (e.g.-agreement between states). But these compact agreements just started, it's still a work in progress. Anyway, done with my rant (at least for today). P.S.- If anyone has insight on the Connecticut dietitian license, please DM me. ------------------------------------------------- Hi I'm Kim Company President of Nutrition Remedy RDs | Staffing Services My team and I 💜 providing the best nutrition care for your communities. ⏩ expert nutrition professionals (Registered Dietitians, Executive Chefs, Certified Dietary Managers/Food Service Directors, Registered Dietetic Technicians) ⏩ all 50 states ⏩ personalized services for your specific facility #healthcare #education #university #longtermcare #seniorliving #hospitals #nutrition #staffing

If anyone wants to get an idea of what's its like as a physician to work in a hospital system, you have to look no further than what's coming out of the kitchen. Specifically the eggs they make. While it is theoretically possible in a hospital to get a whole egg that's cooked over the grill and made to order, they can be hard to get. Someone is not always working the grill, or if they are the line can be long. As a busy physician this often makes getting freshly cooked eggs a no go. So the other option is the premade eggs. Let me walk you through this process: 1. Take egg beaters from a carton and pour them in a large bedpan 2. Pour in a colossal amount of heavy cream 3. Steam the life out of them until the resemble SpongeBob, both in appearance and in taste 4. (Optional) Add a midwestern amount of cheese to the eggs before you steam them dry to make them very unhealthy but somewhat edible Eggs are something that can be very tasty and pretty healthy. The hospital finds a way to make them neither. Now take that whole process of ruining eggs and apply the same administrative mentality to their employed physicians. Voila, the steamed eggs of physician jobs. #hospital #medicine #healthcare #eggs

The more and more I go through my daily work, I realize how much kindness and providing grace is so important. I was completing MDS at a facility and one of the MDS nurses thought I should be completing them earlier than I do. I told her that section K needs to be completed after the ARD date. In my head at first, I was like "omg, I don't want to have to explain this to someone" Then I emailed back my reasoning on why it should be done this way. But then she emailed me back apologizing saying how she "was wrong". and I emailed back "no problem, thank you for checking". Then I felt bad for my initial thought, but I am human. This will happen a lot in business. Learning how to breathe, state your case, and receive a response will provide you a lot less headache. I also know that when the tables are reversed, I would want the same done for me. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Hi I'm Kim President at Nutrition Remedy RDs | Staffing Services My team and I 💜 providing the best nutrition care for your communities. ⏩ expert nutrition professionals (Registered Dietitians, Executive Chefs, Certified Dietary Managers/Food Service Directors, Registered Dietetic Technicians) ⏩ all 50 states ⏩ personalized services for your specific facility #healthcare #education #university #longtermcare #seniorliving #hospitals #nutrition #staffing

One of the great things about being a dietitian is that there are so many potential career options... While working in a clinical (e.g. hospital/LTC) setting is not for everyone; having this experience does afford you some opportunities and experiences you may not be able to get elsewhere. 1.Working with a care team including MDs, RNs, PT/OT, SLP and pharmacists and caring for individuals with complicated illnesses/diseases. 2. Learning how to collaborate and communicate with other health professionals and being part of a care team. 3. Being recognized professionally in your community. 4. Being able to participate in community health events with the hospital or care facility. 5. Having an opportunity to explore food service/food service management positions. 6. Training and mentoring students and interns. https://lnkd.in/e27huATQ

Hornblower peeps! Dietitians are covered under our medical plans. Maybe it's something for you to consider? Take a look at Eric's post to understand the differences between a nutritionist vs dietician and what may be best for you.
9 Weeks Down, 11.6lbs lost (Weight: 248.4lbs). I’m on a mission to lose 85 pounds in 1 year and I'm sharing everything I learn. I also share some practical development tips learned from 20+ years in hospitality.
Dietitian or Nutritionist? I had no idea there was such a big difference. Trying to figure out the best nutritional plan for all these years had me feeling overwhelmed. I decided to ask an expert for help. I thought I would go to a nutritionist since I had used one before, but once I started researching, I quickly realized that I probably should see a dietitian. While the terms "nutritionist" and "dietician" are often used interchangeably, there are some key differences in their qualifications and scope of practice. Here's the breakdown from the Cleveland Clinic:

If you think about it the opposite way, then you will see it clearly. How many times have you gone to work (or even had to do business remotely) YET no one knew what you may have been going through??? ➡️ death in the family ➡️ got in a car accident ➡️ just got diagnosed with cancer With all of life's turmoil, it's easy to see that at least someone you are speaking to when at work/conducting business is going through one thing or another. Provide kindness and grace. It will always win in the end. ------------------------------------------------------------ Hi I'm Kim Company President Nutrition Remedy RDs | Staffing Services My team and I 💜 providing the best nutrition care for your communities. ⏩ expert nutrition professionals (Registered Dietitians, Executive Chefs, Certified Dietary Managers/Food Service Directors, Registered Dietetic Technicians) ⏩ all 50 states ⏩ personalized services for your specific facility #healthcare #education #university #longtermcare #seniorliving #hospitals #nutrition #staffing
