NEOM is a planned cross-border city development located in the northwest of Saudi Arabia. It aims to be a hub for various industries, including energy, technology, entertainment, and tourism. NEOM spans over 26,000 square kilometers and is intended to be a model for sustainable living and innovation. One of the key components of NEOM is "THE LINE." It is a centerpiece of the NEOM project and envisions a linear city that stretches for hundreds of kilometers, running exclusively on renewable energy sources. The idea behind "THE LINE" is to create a sustainable and walkable city, where people can live, work, and have access to essential services within a 5-minute walk. The goal is to provide a high-quality urban environment with reduced congestion, pollution, and wasted time. Overall, NEOM and "THE LINE" are ambitious projects that aim to create a futuristic and sustainable city. However, their success will depend on many factors including execution, adoption, and long-term sustainability.

As someone who pays close attention to what's going on in the Middle East, the name "NEOM" has come up many times over the last few years. As described on their own website, "NEOM is the land of the future where the greatest minds and best talents are empowered to embody pioneering ideas and exceed boundaries in a world inspired by imagination."
