☝️ Have you ever had a random conversation on a train that inspired you? On the way back from the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, one of our co-founders, Léon Bérelle, found himself sat next to Dr. Heïdi Sevestre, a glaciologist, lecturer, TV host, and active member of climate change initiatives like AMAP. Their conversation proved transformational, filled with mutual passion for our planet. Inspired by their discussion, Leon adjusted his schedule to attend the Tech for Climate ? event, to bring back valuable information to enrich our CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) policy. He engaged with climate experts and explored actionable steps we can take to make a difference. The insights gained were truly eye-opening. At Unit Image, we believe in the power of small changes to make a big impact. While the animation industry often relies on extensive computing resources, we're committed to reducing our carbon footprint. Since its creation we have put in place CSR initiatives including: - 🚫 A no-paper policy - 🌱 Partnering with suppliers who use organic products and electric transport - ♻️ Composting and recycling in our kitchen - 🌷 Securing a gardening box outside our studio - 🌡️ Installing an air filtration with double flow ventilation system for heating and cooling What's next? 🤔 We aim to leverage the millions of views our films generate to support causes we care about. We plan to create more impactful videos and engage in projects that deliver meaningful messages. You can check out one of our previous projects "Le Bete" produced alongside BETC Paris and FLAC (Federation Fighting Against Corrida) that denounces bullfighting, https://lnkd.in/dP-26TQr as an example. Together, we can achieve great things and Leon's train conversation was a powerful reminder of that fact! #UnitImage #CSR #ClimateAction #Sustainability #Animation #ImpactfulStories #Tech4Climate #AnnecyFestival #EnvironmentalResponsibility

Northern Forge Studios is asking YOU to take action for the planet! Our studio is taking part in the 2024 Green Game Jam put together by Playing for the Planet and we're excited to launch our in-game activation, Terra's Legacy on September 9th! This year's theme is "Small actions, big impact" and we want to use our GPS-powered role-playing game to bridge the gap between the world of gaming and real world action. We're incorporating three environmental areas of focus and themes into our in-game event: FOOD, WASTE and RESTORATION. We're priming our players on these themes by using a storyline within the game about a planet who were unable to work together to combat an environmental threat. Using this knowledge, we then encourage real-world interaction to compliment the in-game activities. Players will be able to locate areas in their real-world environment that make great examples of the three core themes and mark them as "Gloomsites" in-game. Players from around the world can then teleport their characters to these Gloomsites and assist with an in-game cleanup of the area, players will: 🗑 Fight off the Great Murk - a wasteful byproduct that has become sentient. 🌲 Plant Light Elm Trees to restore the corrupted land. 🍎 Harvest Gaia Apples - a sustainable food source from these locations. During and after the activation, we hope that players will be more aware of the pollution in their local areas and make a continued effort to maintain and clean them up. We hope that this event shines a light on how small actions can have big impact and illuminates these environmental issues on a global scale! If you're looking for more information on this event, checkout our press presentation here: https://shorturl.at/THfl6

At Pianeta.Studio, we champion sustainability, environment, and social progress by amplifying voices for change. We craft narratives that advocate for a sustainable future. The concept of the Nexus is central to our world. It represents the complex and crucial interplay between water, energy, food, and ecosystems—an interconnected framework that is vital for human life. Visualize the Nexus as a chaotic entanglement of wires, each representing a different sector. When one is tugged, the rest are impacted. Our actions need to be deliberate; we cannot afford to tie knots that are impossible to untangle. Look out for our next post, where we will dive deeper into our Nexus project! Lately we had a very inspiring session at Capgemini from my amazing colleague Annie Hughes on greenwashing. A very difficult topic especially since we are in the red 🚨with our planet 🌎. Change is difficult but I think this animation perfectly sets things in perspective! Sustainability is a real topic not just a 🐝-word. #sustainability #change #planet #environment #animation #facts

‘Just be respectful to earth’ says a child in this month’s SDI Spotlight feature, ‘2040’. 2040 is a documentary film that envisions a positive and inclusive future by showcasing existing solutions to climate change. In the very first few minutes of the film, Director Damon Gameau explains climate change, its causes, and its impact in simple and certain terms. This sets the tone for the rest of the film. Gameau envisions a hopeful future for his daughter by spotlighting real and feasible solutions to our environmental challenges. Departing from the conventional doomsday narrative, the film focuses on existing real-world innovations like solar microgrids and regenerative farming. Gameau's engaging approach blends expert insights with the imaginative musings of children, providing a holistic perspective on climate action. Despite occasional lapses into idealism, the documentary's emphasis on tangible, accessible solutions makes it a refreshing departure from the usual eco-anxiety-inducing fare. Gameau candidly acknowledges challenges, including his own carbon footprint, adding authenticity to the narrative. While the futuristic segments may seem whimsical, they underscore the transformative potential of widespread adoption of sustainable practices. Punctuated with stop motion animation, often corny bits of humour, and spades of hope 2040 is a compelling and accessible call to action. It is a reminder that positive change is not only necessary but also well within our grasp. 2040 is Directed by: Damon Gameau Written by: Damon Gameau Produced by: Nick Batzias, Anna Kaplan, Damon Gameau, and Virginia Whitwell Production Company: Good Thing Productions Distributed by: Madman Entertainment #SolarDecathlonIndia #SDI #SDIspotlight #ClimateChange #ClimateAction #sustainability

Director at MyCarbon🦸Saving the world through Calculating, Reducing and Offsetting carbon impact 🌍 Social Scientist 🥼 Sustainability Expert 🌱 Fitness Nerd 🏋️
Start small, start good. This is the advice we give to lots of our clients when they first think about reporting their sustainability work. This blog report from the wonderful Riot Games is a fantastic example of just this. 🌱💚 Riot's Games approach to communicating their efforts is a textbook example for any business looking to make its first foray into environmental responsibility. Their reduction activities ranged from local cleanups to sustainable commuting options, all shared through a simple, transparent and engaging update to their community. Which not only informs both their team and the broader community, but also is really inspiring. A simple, clear narrative about small steps can lead to significant environmental impacts, highlighting the power of starting with what's doable and communicating it effectively. 📚🌍 #SustainabilityInAction #RiotGames

Co-founder and COO at Mind Blown League | Co-founder Pitch Bright | EdTech Innovator | Gaming for Green | Fostering Science-curiosity | Driving Educational Transformation
Floods? Game on! We're on a mission to use games as a learning tool and I am excited to explore new partnerships for Mind Blown League. For this meeting, we created a new game prototype aimed at communities at risk for flooding. Our games all focus on learning through play. We are #gamingforagreenerfuture #mindblownleague #gamebasedlearning #learningthroughplay #climateaction #SDG4 #SDG13
We recently met with Russell Stow from the Transformative Riverine Management Programme and the passionate Biodiversity Management team at eThekwini Municipality to explore the game-changing potential of using games for environmental education! They were very interested in how we: 1. Design immersive games that tackle complex environmental issues in engaging and accessible ways. 2. Empower communities through play-based learning, fostering a deeper understanding of flood risks and resilience strategies. 3. Ignite young minds with the power of gaming to become environmentally conscious and proactive contributors to a sustainable future. We look forward to exploring this relationship further. #mindblownleague #gamingforagreenerfuture #learningthroughplay #gamebasedlearning #environmentaleducation #floodrisk #SDG4 #SDG13
