I am proud of Congress for recognizing the threat posed by TBI and blast overpressure. Many of the injuries suffered by service members in the past 20 years were preventable with proper training and equipment. I will throw myself in with those affected by this common GWOT injury. For the past 16 years, I served in Special Forces units where blast was just part of the job. Before that, I was a Combat Engineer, and likewise, we “ate a lot of charges.” We sometimes knew better, but often we were just doing what needed to be done at the time. As we look at how to do better, we can look at some great tech that DARPA helped develop to track exposure (https://lnkd.in/e_EUxAVD), and there are some companies making awesome simulators to reduce cumulative overpressure during training (https://lnkd.in/euurnita). Future combat may very well usher in overpressure injuries on a scale not seen in a century. We need to prepare now to prevent the blast injuries, track them when they happen, provide rapid intervention, and to prepare for long term care and treatment. I can’t thank National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) enough for their support and treatment. I hope the longterm resources are there to support the next generation of warriors. Let me ask you a question, What is the most dangerous weapon for the country against it's enemy at the age of modern warfare? Most probably your answer will be, An espionage(spy) or Drone( automated war aircraft). Unfortunately you are wrong, Cause though their seems to have a lot of modern weapons, still there is one genres that goes beyond ranking, and still has a strong footprint and presence in the war. Sniper, those are fight out of visibility, and guard the whole platoon from the enemy. Well , don't underestimate sniper, Cause, they can damage the whole defense system of the enemy, and cause to as many death as it want's to get. Most interestingly he is out of human visibility, but he exist. From the very first , WW1 to WW2 , even in the Iraq war, Sniper has contribute a lot, both side has their own strong group of sniper, they are well trained and cause to the massive destruction of the enemy. Can you relate something? If not, Let me help you to out, not just in the war , also in the modern society there are lot of sniper around us, maybe not holding the gun, rather most destructive weapons. you don't know, but believe me they exist in a certain portion. Where peace is a relative word, Battle exist everywhere.
