In line with the UAE’s Green Agenda 2030 and the upcoming COP28 Summit (United Nations Climate Change Conference), United Foods Company is on a mission to create a more sustainable future for our planet. We recognize the impact that our operations have on the environment, and we are constantly striving to reduce our carbon footprint and minimize waste. Here’s how we are moving forward in our sustainability journey: - Renewable Energy: We've tactically integrated renewable energy sources into our operations, reducing our carbon footprint and reliance on non-renewable resources. In 2020, we partnered with ‘Yellow Energy’ – a leading provider of renewable energy solutions – to install a 2,000 KW Solar Power Plant on the rooftop of our factory in Jebel Ali. The plant has been operational for over a year now and has reduced our reliance on the grid, resulting in significant cost savings. This project has been a significant milestone in our journey, and we are proud to have taken this step towards a greener future. - Innovative Waste Reduction: Through cutting-edge technologies, we're actively recycling and reducing waste across our supply chain, minimizing our environmental impact. - Eco-friendly Production: Our production processes are designed with the environment in mind, promoting sustainability from the ground up. - Sustainable Packaging: We understand the crucial role of packaging in reducing waste and pollution. Our ongoing efforts include exploring compostable and biodegradable options, reducing overall packaging usage, and enhancing recyclability. Fethi Khiari, CEO at United Foods Company, said: “Our commitment to sustainability remains unshakable. We believe that as a food manufacturing company, it's our responsibility to implement more eco-friendly practices in our company." So, join us in making a positive impact on our planet, one step at a time. #COP28 #Sustainability #EcoFriendly #SustainablePackaging #FoodManufacturing #UAE

At the Guardian we are committed to eliminating 67% of our greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and to being transparent about our progress. Last week we published our latest sustainability report, setting out the steps we are taking to reduce them and our long-term goals. An important part of our reduction strategy is working in close collaboration with suppliers. All our UK daily newspapers are already printed at sites powered by 100% renewable energy and we have moved to a new low-carbon IT data centre supplier, reducing data centre emissions by 95%. Carbon emissions are only part of the story when we think about what it means to be sustainable and our impact in the world. In November, we published our first ever biodiversity audit. We believe the Guardian is the first newspaper publisher to have done this, and one of only a few companies to have taken this step: https://lnkd.in/eHNxyKT9 There is still a lot to learn, but we hope our transparency around sustainability is useful, and helps others setting out on the same path.

It's the total amount of greenhouse gases (GHGs) released by our activities. Carbon credits are a tool to combat climate change by funding projects that remove or reduce emissions elsewhere. They work like this: businesses or individuals invest in these projects, essentially "offsetting" their own footprint. 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹 The world of carbon credits offers a diverse range of solutions, including Renewable Energy, Forestry & Land Use, Waste Management, Energy Efficiency, and more. Carbon Bank is laser-focused on impactful solutions. We currently offer two main types of credits: Removal and Offset. But stay tuned, as we're expanding our offerings to encompass even more positive change! 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝘀: 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 Removal credits tackle climate change head-on. Carbon Bank invests in projects like capturing methane gas from palm oil mill effluent – a potent GHG. By preventing its release, we actively remove greenhouse gases from the atmosphere. 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝘀: 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 Offset credits support projects that prevent future emissions. For example, Carbon Bank partners with "Green Carbon" initiatives. Understanding the difference between Removal and Offset credits empowers you to make a real impact. Removal credits act like erasers, tackling existing carbon through methods like capturing methane from landfills. Their impact is immediate and measurable. Offset credits, on the other hand, are preventative measures. They support projects like planting trees that absorb future emissions, promoting long-term sustainability. Choose Removal for faster results or Offset for a greener future – both are crucial in the fight against climate change! 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 Ready to make a change? By investing in our projects, you can directly contribute to a healthier planet and generate carbon credit.
