An admin job might always be the best thing ❌❌ I have lost count of the amount of times people say 'I want to get an office job to improve my English". And I understand, I really do. 🔥 You're super skilled and educated from your home country and you KNOW that you can EASILY do basic admin work But, here's the problem..... So can other people. 👉Young school leavers who want a first job 👉Mums returning to work who don't want too much responsibility with a small child 👉Mums who need work in school hours 👉People returning to the workforce after a break 👉Older people who want a nice office environment 👉 University students And of course, people who like admin jobs and that is what their career is. 😩You see, all of these people are also applying for the office jobs you are and admin is probably one of the most in demand jobs out there. ❌So whenever I hear someone say that they want an office job to improve their English all I can think of is that it's probably not going to be as easy as you think 🇦🇺In fact, in my experience and professional opinion it is much better to have career direction and show your career and industry skills in your field and not ANY office job. I understand you're worried about your english and I understand that you want to build confidence but you have to show an employer that you'll be good at this job and ,"wanting to improve your English" isn't a good enough reason. So, if you're applying for office jobs and not getting any response then this is probably the reason why. #adminjob #workinsydney #migrantprofessional #internationalatudent #JobSearchAustralia #jobapplication #careeradvice #careercounsellor #AustralianResume #workdownunder

👩🏼⚕️ 👨🏼⚕️ Few of you may know that I come from a family of doctors. What I respect most about them is their dedication to their profession, their love for people, and their readiness to be on-call 24/7. At a young age, I decided not to follow in my parents' footsteps. My priority was to learn as many languages as possible, inspire others, and help them master at least one foreign language. I believed this would help them achieve higher goals in life and career. I got higher education, provided private lessons to children and seafarers, got my first job as an English teacher, and then realized I needed to change my focus. 👩🏼💻 Recently, during a conversation with colleagues, someone mentioned that recruiting is comparable to being a doctor. That comment made me pause, and I thought, yes, there is truth in that. It's no coincidence that I am now in recruitment. It seems to me that I combine the roles of a recruiter, a teacher and a bit of a doctor into one. 1️⃣ I listen to people. 2️⃣ I offer solutions. 3️⃣ I inspire people to learn English, get additional hard skills, etc. ‼ Like a doctor who diagnoses problems and suggests the most effective treatment, recruiters also identify issues and provide tailored solutions. Not every "patient" needs "surgery," and similarly, not every candidate needs a job change. ‼ For example, candidates often feel restless for reasons unrelated to their job, and they may attend interviews with no real intention of leaving. In such cases, a recruiter can recognize this early on and offer honest advice, possibly even suggesting ways to improve their current situation. Building long-lasting relationships with candidates is crucial so that they not only trust you but also refer others to you or return when they're genuinely ready for a new opportunity. ‼ Some candidates, on the other hand, may not realize they need to change jobs, perhaps because they're significantly underpaid. In such cases, a recruiter can guide them toward better opportunities. ❗ Like a doctor prescribing treatment based on a patient's condition, recruiters must match candidates not only to the skills required but also to the company’s values and goals. Recruiting isn't just about bringing a company and a candidate together. It's about identifying and solving problems. ❓ What are your thoughts on this? #recruitment #hr #hiring #software #available #engineers #react #node

I arrived in the UK in 1997 as an English Language student, carrying only £250. Within two weeks, I needed to secure a job and accommodation with that modest sum. The least expensive room I could find was £400 per month, not including the same amount for a deposit. 🍀 Luckily, my first job at a private bed and breakfast as a bedmaker came with a “perk”—accommodation at the owner's house at no cost, in exchange for cleaning their home weekly. Despite having been a teacher in Lithuania, I embraced this new role, working tirelessly seven days a week for £100, and attending English classes at college post-work. After seven months of continuous labour without a single day off, I requested for a time off. “Why do you need it? Do you want to see your boyfriend?”- they asked sarcastically. ▪️ No boyfriends; ▪️ No days off; ▪️ No annual leave; ▪️ Request your wages weekly if you want to be paid 😧 These were all the “benefits” of my amazing package of having a job as an immigrant. . . . . As a newcomer to the country and unfamiliar with Western employment rights, I was unaware of my entitlements, even though my student visa legally allowed me to work 20 hours a week. ⚡Why I’m sharng this story today? ✔️The current job market is tough. ✔️Many of you have been trying to secure your next role for months without success. → For those born in Western countries, remember your privilege. → You possess inherent rights and a wealth of opportunities to achieve your aspirations. → Dedication and focus on your goals are paramount. 🌈🌈🌈You’ll get there! PS: After over two decades of working in the UK, holding managerial roles, and earning a Law degree from Birkbeck, University of London, I faced discrimination from recruitment agencies due to my accent, suggesting I settle for data entry roles. Nevertheless, I secured a job on my own at the time, without their assistance. (Disclaimer- later on in I have worked with some great recruitment companies who helped me to secure suitable roles)

🍁 What is Co-Op?🤔 Co-Op, short for Cooperative Education, is a program where students alternate between periods of academic study and work experience related to their field. It's an invaluable opportunity to gain real-world skills, build a professional network, and enhance your resume while pursuing your education. When choosing a program with a co-op term, keep in mind that you will need to apply for a work permit as well as a study permit. #canadaimmigration #immigrationcanada #movetocanada #immigrationlawyer #immigrationtoronto #workpermitcanada #workcanada #newcomercanada #studypermit
