Nick Sabans Retirement: A Legacy or A Gift Since the announcement of Mr Saban retiring from the Alabama football program there have been numerous comments/reviews. Most have been complimentary (as they should be). Occasionally there are comments of how much stronger respective school programs will be now since allegedly good athletes are leaving Alabama. I’m not too certain of the veracity of those thoughts however it reminds me of comments I heard from veterinarians in clinics when managing sales personnel. Not so uncommon to hear a DVM express frustration with the occasional rep showing up and attempt to sell their product based on perceived weaknesses of a competitor. If that is the philosophy of the rep they should change their philosophy. Your customer wants to purchase from you because you have a “solution” to their need predicated on the “strengths” of your solution. Be a true professional don’t critique your competition but sell your product on its own merits . This will sell more product for you and your company and it will go a long ways to strengthening your character .
