We have had many intense and rich discussions about this important topic, amongst ourselves, which has brought in some incredibly interesting literature and research into the conversation. It reminded me of some of the tensions that have occurred in the United States as it relates to safety in our communities. The police are charged with enforcing the law. Some in our communities feel a lack of safety from those doing the policing. The response from some in those communities is to “defund the police.” Their point of view is that the current system is not working for the people and that the current model must change. Essentially, the police and community are doing what they are doing inside the polarity between maintaining continuity/stability, and the need for change/transformation. There is a wonderful story that was printed in the Oxford handbook of organizational paradox (2017) of a police chief in Charleston, South Carolina, who navigated this tension with a wonderful colleague and friend of mine, Margaret Siedler. The outcomes were transformational and as an example of what’s possible, when we trust people and the process outside of it either/or perspective alone. It is people who know a thing or two about education, as well as those being educated, and who are experiencing the system to join together in a spirited conversation about what’s working, what’s not, and how to best navigate in service of some greuter purpose that shared by the current system, and the desired future system. We can organize this wisdom together to develop strategies and approaches that serve everyone now, and in the future. My friend and colleague Dr. Samsr Ahmed has an incredible talent for convening key stakeholders with diverse perspectives and facilitating forward-focused conversations on challenging issues and opportunities. I always come out at the end of any process she leads a better person, more informed, and inspired about what is possible when we come together to organize our individual and collective wisdom. Margaret and Samar are two incredible leaders cut from the same cloth. If you would care to join us in this exploration/endeavor, we would welcome your contribution of wisdom and experience.

Hello my dear friends and connections. We are all sensing the rollercoaster we are experiencing in our education systems. We feel we are out of breath trying to follow innovations that are done for no proper evidence. We do not really feel that education is getting any better nor are educational outcomes. We are starting a universal discussion about the value of the schooling system in its current form and we are ready to listen to anyone. Anyone interested in joing this discussion please let me know. We are a team Myself, W. Cliff Kayser, III and Arina Ziganshina Reach out to any of us and let us know what you have to say or ask.

As a school administrator, I’m constantly looking for ways to empower students, teachers, and our community to reach their full potential. Dr Jo Boaler‘a “Limitless Mind” challenges us to examine our understanding how we can transform the way we approach learning and growth. Educators can support this mindse by: 🌟 Encouraging students to persevere through challenges 🌟 Creating a culture where effort and learning from mistakes are valued 🌟 Inspiring educators to innovate and collaborate The limits we often believe exist—whether awcademic or personal—can be overcome with the right mindset and support.
