Business models with repeated income streams... Love it! Be it royalties, be it commissions, be it patents. The ones at the front of the chain should remain in the chain for a tiny stake in case their work becomes successful and long-lasting. Don't make your stake too big though or you'll shoot yourself in the foot. Expensive patents prevent groundbreaking innovations from being scaled, so maintain interest with generalized PR and B2B marketing. Education can also be a great marketing tool! High stakes prevent your customers from repeating the process. They'd rather move on and do it themselves. My advice: don't shoot yourself in the foot. But DO make sure you get a little stake in the rest of the sales chain. After all, it is at the end where the biggest margin is made due to branding... #marketing #sales #businessmodel

“…conversations started online about what a show has to do to survive past Season 1 and why can't we let original and diverse stories have time to find their fanbases. Instead, they have 10 episodes (or less) to find as many fans as shows like Bridgerton, or else they are done for.” This conversation has been very loud online and why so many people are turning to old series like Supernatural (15 Seasons), Suits (9 Seasons), or The Vampire Diaries (8 Seasons). The trust that is built between filmmakers/stories and their audience takes time, and with so few episodes to hook in viewers and so many season 1 cancellations following a cliffhanger ending, there’s very little desire for people to invest until they know there’s a season 2. It’s why many people turned to KDramas with their single season, limited series of 16 x 1 hour episodes format. Almost guaranteed completed story. “It's also become such a sad cycle. When it became evidence that Nikola Tesla had a good idea, he formed the AEG company in Germany and employed inventors to come up with a Y Delta transformation. No royalties were charged for this solution because it was a inferior phase order per the chief engineer at Westinghouse, BE Lamme who secured Patent rights to both solutions. Overtime, Nikola Telsa lowered his patent price for his invention, but the damage had already been done. Even Natural Gas which is considered clean - is pumped by the 3 Phase Grid. If Natural Gas was pumped by 4 Phases it would be truly clean.

The TV drama I hated at first but grew to love. It's won the award for best TV drama series at the Golden Globes. Usually I'm a sucker for unlikable characters; the more flaws and sass the better. But Ep 1 of Succession didn't chime with me. Wasn't interested in watching a bunch of rich privileged brats cavorting about in private planes and chauffeur-driven vehicles throwing hissy fits. Modelled on the Murdochs of this world, the show, at a surface level, made me roll my eyeballs and think: yeah, nah. But that was before I got what the show was really about. That's when I fell in love with the series. I came late to it, but soon devoured all four seasons. It's all in the premise. When I understood the core concept that made the show tick, I was hooked. The Roy siblings have it all. Except their father's love (their mother's also a piece of work). They will do anything to get their father's attention, admiration. I think there's a sizeable chunk of the population who can relate to that. Not the money bit. The parental affection bit. Boom. We get it. It's tapping into a universal theme. The audience is on board and engaged. If anything, the fact that these people are a bunch of sh*ts only adds to the appeal. Why? We understand why they are so dysfunctional! We can empathize with the characters and their actions even though they are reprehensible on so many levels. Proving that protagonists do NOT need to be likeable to make a great show. The fast-moving consumer media trend continues to pick up steam, and great stories will be the backbone for further monetization through micropayments. While subscription services will continue to grow, I think we all agree that there is some fatigue in that area where all large media companies are trying to build their own video streaming services to own more of the subscription fee. At some point, the ability to just pay for what you really want to watch and just have everything else through streaming will return. In the meantime, monetization of media through micropayments is still a largely untapped market, in a world where millions of people are already used to making 20 cents transactions through mobile wallets.
