Congratulations to Sally Doty and the Broadband Expansion and Accessibility of Mississippi - BEAM for the being one of the first two states approved for BEAD funding. This approval will allow the state to request more than $1.2 billion for broadband projects. This marks a major step forward in ensuring everyone has access to a reliable internet connection. As we wrap up our OSHA Safe + Sound week, we would like to recognize another member of the Safety Team. Employee Profile: Jerry Randolph Jerry has been with UniTek Global Services since 2017, where he started as a fiber splicer for Hutchins Telecom. In early 2023, Jerry was promoted to Fleet and Safety Manager, where he oversees the training and Safety compliance, as well as Fleet Management for Hutchins. Jerry is married and has a beautiful 5 year old daughter that he spends a lot of time with. He enjoys time at the racetrack with the family, playing golf with buddies, but most of all....football.
Only fitting that during this OSHA Safe + Sound Week, we profile one of our Safety Specialists. Employee Profile: Tyson Schmidt Tyson began his career with UniTek as a Warehouse Manager for CI Services, a UniTek Global Services Company in April of 2022. Tyson then moved to the role of Safety Specialist for UniTek in January of this year. Tyson is a military veteran, having served 10+ years in the Navy as a CTT (Cryptological Technician). He is married with 4 children and enjoys all things outdoors, including hunting (dove, turkey, hogs, whitetails, exotics, big game, etc.) and playing golf. Tyson, we thank you not only for the excellent job you are doing as a Safety Specialist for us, but also for your service to this country.
