I went to Sónar Festival Lisbon this weekend 🌟🎵 Ok nice story, but why is that LinkedIn's business? One thing that struck me this year was the diversity of the line up. Not in a way where the festival had tried to shoe-horn in diverse acts just to tick a box - but in a way that honoured each artist in their rightful place. From emerging talents to established artists, the festival celebrated a beautiful spectrum of genres, cultures, identities, and voices. 🎶✨ It was a real signal of the broader cultural shift that is starting to happen. It's evident that Gen Z, the driving force behind much of today's cultural landscape, is actively demanding diversity and inclusion in all aspects of their world🌍💡 👉 Last year, Glastonbury received a whole lot of criticism from Gen Z voices (and others) when the Pyramid headliners were all white and male. This year they have two female artists topping the bill for the first time in their 50 year history. 👉 In a recent Monster survey, 83% of Gen Z candidates said that a company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion is important when choosing an employer. We're seeing in both music and business, diversity isn't just a buzzword—it's a fundamental ingredient for success. It's important for businesses to recognise the growing voice of the current and future workforce. Organisations that aren't willing to prioritise DEIB now, will eventually end up getting left behind. I'm taking inspiration from Sónar Festival to show that with just a bit of forward planning, we can start to create a movement towards a more diverse and inclusive world. 🚀 #DiversityMatters #DEIB #FutureInsights #SónarFestival

Currently, about 2-5% of the 1 billion+ visitors per year to museums and heritage sites choose to take a tour. They miss out on the rich stories that make a place special, and the venue misses out on key upsell and marketing opportunities. So why is this? In my view, two reasons: The Power of Personalisation: At the moment most sites still rely on basic highlights guides. Even when the content is great, it’s not necessarily tailored to my interests, who I am visiting with and language. The Challenge of Time: Several times I’ve found myself with not a lot of time to spare, family running around and getting FOMO that I won’t see everything. Renting a hardware device guide means handing everything back even if I didn’t fully explore. Wouldn’t it be great if I could answer a few simple questions about what I like, my time constraints and access needs and come-up with an itinerary? Well… we dreamed it.. and now Smartify has built it…! With the help of AI there is no more FOMO or a generic trail that does not take your preferences into account. Answer three questions: What do you like? How much time have you got? Would you like to stay connected with your venues and upcoming exhibitions? And create a unique trail just for you! #Smartify #ArtTech #Innovation #PersonalizedArtJourney #CultureRevolution

🔮 Future Days Festival, Lisbon 🔮 Last week, Mikara Naidoo and Aymard Dudok de Wit had the pleasure of attending the Future Days Festival in Lisbon - an inaugural, intimate and immersive meeting of minds from around the world. From global brand strategists to artists and scientists to policy makers, the 200+ audience members explored topics of impact, strategy, futures, innovation, narratives, technology and connectedness - in the most tangible ways. The 3 days were spent fully engaged in dialogue. Some key highlights are extracted below: - Day 1 was about observing our current world, and the current Lisbon. This happened through talks and a walk-about with Unicorn Factory Lisboa and With Company in Marvila to understand the signals in our every day. This set the stage for the festival whilst providing the opportunity to get to know both the city and the participants. - Day 2 was all about how we might imagine the future, together. Topics ranged from mapping, governance, participatory design, unimaginable tech, Ikigai 2035 and protopias. It is worth mentioning that the event was held at the most incredible Estufa Fria Botanical Gardens - which was truly an oasis in every way. - Day 3, the final day, was spent fully immersed in labs and lectures on how we might move closer to the futures we desire. We oscillated in discussion about data, time, policy and tangible futures for Lisbon 2030, appreciating (and agreeing with) the conclusion that 'faster and bigger is not always better'. It was heavily reminiscent of Ellie Sutton's words: 'sometimes you have to slow down to speed up.' The Festival provided seeds of inspiration which flourished over coffees and dinners. Here's a small bouquet of those flowers: - ‘The Future of Loyalty' - How organisations may better align with the Inner Development Goals - Organisational change management in the future of the unknown - Interplanetary futures Overall, it was a magical and inspiring 3 days that enhanced real discussion, connectedness and experience - a new bar for the future of conferences. Thanks to the Future Days team - Uri Casademont, Meri Sahade, Lydia Caldana, and all the volunteers for the experience. We will do our part to ensure that these flowers continue to grow - and Veriteer will see you next year! Building a better art world 🌐 CEO & Founder @ Artisfact Limited (artsted.com) | Co-Founder & Director @ ReA! Art Fair | 2x Founder 🚀
Growing up in a former communist bloc country, the principles of the sharing economy have always been part of the culture I was immersed in. After moving to the West, I first discovered Couchsurfing, it felt like a natural extension of my worldview and I was an active user for about a year during my bachelor's studies. Later on over the years, my home—no matter where it was—became a welcoming space for colleagues, friends, and peers looking for a temporary stay in the big city. In the past four years alone, my place served as a temporary home for over 10 different people from the visual arts space, spanning at least 200 days total. These experiences reinforced my belief in the power of shared spaces to foster genuine connections and build lasting networks. Now, with our most recent pivot at Artsted, all these experiences are coming together in a bigger vision. Introducing ArtistBnB: a platform designed to help the arts community truly thrive and build enduring connections. Anyone who stayed at my home while visiting Milan became a lifelong friend, forming the backbone of my network in the creative space. The level of trust that comes from sharing your personal space with someone is unparalleled. With ArtistBnB, we aim to replicate and scale this experience. We're transforming underutilized spaces into affordable accommodations for artists, addressing the high travel costs in the creative space and fostering a global network by leveraging community resources. We're revolutionizing the $60 billion art market by changing the way artists connect and collaborate worldwide. If you believe in the power of community and want to be part of this journey - join us. Sign up on our waiting list and be part of this amazing global community! https://lnkd.in/eT6zx_Y6 #ArtistBnB #Artsted #SharingEconomy #CreativeCommunity #ArtMarket #GlobalNetwork #community
