Now mankind does not have to wonder why women in 19th century England started their marches which grew into the FEMINIST movement. Women’s innate will is “to control your husband”. Yes, our youth dying of drug overdoses, the homeless living under bridges, and violence and chaos across America all have their roots in the Women’s Liberation Movement. This is no longer a movement for citizens’ rights for women but women wanting freedom from their duties of being wives and mothers. If you’re not advocating for yourself, who will? Let’s talk about self-advocacy as a woman in male-dominated fields. Too often, we feel the need to stay quiet. To simply work hard, and wait for recognition. Here's the problem with that: If you don’t speak up for yourself, you’re letting others define your worth. Self-advocacy is a non-negotiable. You have to claim your seat at the table. You have to advocate for your ideas. Your contributions. Your value. Here’s why self-advocacy matters: -It ensures you’re seen and heard in spaces that might overlook you. -It paves the way for other women to step up. -It shifts the narrative from “grateful to be here” to “I deserve to be here.” Self-advocacy isn’t about being aggressive. It’s about owning your accomplishments... ...and making sure your work speaks as loudly as anyone else’s. To all the women navigating male-dominated fields: Speak up. Take up space. Advocate for yourself. You’ve earned it. 💪🏽

8 March marks #internationalwomensday , a day dedicated to women’s rights. Women’s rights are human rights and must be promoted, protected and respected as such. In 2024, we are in a better place than before, but there is still a long way to go. Today is a day to stand up for equality, equity, justice and inclusion! KMEWO has been working tirelessly towards these values for 25 years to ensure that Black and Minoritised women, survivors of domestic Abuse and harmful practices have a loud voice in Islington, across London and in every single place where their human rights are found violated. To mark International Women’s Day, we are launching our 2022-2023 Annual Report, showcasing the work we have done over the past year. At a glance: 691 women felt safer and escaped abusive relationships through our specialist VAWG advocacy, advice and support. 77 women improved their mental health through 1:1 culturally sensitive counselling in their mother tongue 94 IT devices distributed to women in refuges to reduce digital isolation. 36 frontline professionals in the voluntary and statutory sectors received Harmful Practices for Professionals training to better understand the complex concept of harmful practices and its intersection with VAWG so that they can improve their responses to the needs of survivors of domestic abuse. https://lnkd.in/dVtJ9sQp #inspireinclusion

Eliminating racism and empowering women are crucial for creating a just and equitable society. Here are some key strategies and initiatives: *Individual Actions:* 1. Educate yourself on racism and sexism. 2. Listen to and amplify marginalized voices. 3. Challenge biases and microaggressions. 4. Support organizations working towards equity. 5. Engage in respectful dialogue and advocacy. Remember, eliminating racism and empowering women requires collective effort, ongoing learning, and sustained action. I can not forget my experiences and the confidence I have gained from this organization , Back in 2008❤️.
