We were thrilled to welcome our esteemed project partners: Alantum Europe GmbH, Clean-Lasersysteme GmbH, Plasmatreat GmbH, Helmholtz-Institut Münster Forschungszentrum Jülich, and Fraunhofer IFAM Fraunhofer Institut für Fertigungstechnik und Angewandte Materialforschung. The goal of this project was to develop a Li-ion cell demonstrator with a pre-lithiated alloy anode to promote the feasibility of manufacturing and the market application of innovative battery technologies. Over the past three years, we've achieved remarkable progress together by combining expertise from different fields, including the development of a full cell demonstrator based on an alloyed anode system. The event concluded with a visit to our GW-scale production site in Flintbek, showcasing our innovative processes. Leading this consortium has been an honor, and we eagerly anticipate future collaborations! We thank our project partners for their dedication and contributions and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Germany for funding and support. The results of this project have provided us with invaluable insights into the practical implementation of advanced anode materials, significantly enhancing our product development and paving the way for future customer projects. #Innovation #R&D #NextGenBatteries #Collaboration #BatteryTechnology #LiIon #ResearchAndDevelopment #FutureTechnology #SustainableEnergy

Once again this year, we are pleased to give university employees the opportunity to present their research at the Aachen Colloquium. Their innovative projects and research work will be presented in a poster presentation as well as in a video pitch. Here we present the first posters: Poster 1: Katrin Himmelseher from Lehrstuhl für Thermodynamik mobiler Energiewandlungssysteme, RWTH Aachen University presents her project "Optimization of emission behavior for a hydrogen combustion engine": "On this poster the research project HyInno ICE is presented. The project shows the possibility of using a 3-cylinder engine operated with hydrogen which has on the one hand low nitrogen oxide emissions and on the other hand a high-power output." Poster 2: Sakura Akahoshi from the University of Tsukuba shows "Designing a human-machine mediator that encourages control transitions under conditional driving automation": "To increase the safety and transparency of conditional automated driving, a method will be developed to enable safe transitions from automation to human control during takeover situations. This research focuses on developing a mediator that facilitates transitions between human drivers and automated systems when authority must be delegated due to functional limitations of the system or natural phenomena, with an emphasis on auditory voice output. The role of the mediator is to resolve authority or attention distribution conflicts that may arise during these transitions." #AachenColloquium #UniversityResearch #InnovationInEngineering #ResearchPoster #RWTHAachen #UniversityOfTsukuba

Exoskeletons are valuable tools for keeping older workers healthy. This is a way to address demographic changes, keep the workforce available for industry, and save on social security costs for the public. We focus on that - Check this out!
Exoskeletons are a technology that promises to support physical work and therefore reduce strain. In the ExoFitStyria project, the Institute of Innovation and Industrial Management - IIM at TU Graz, together with eleven small and medium-sized enterprises in Styria, have investigated whether and for which activities this really applies, and found areas in which exoskeletons provide real relief. However, there were also activities where the relief was only slight or the supposed help was more of an obstacle: https://lnkd.in/dPNV64t8

Can Techvolver help discover new catalysts in chemistry? “Yes” according to Pascal Miéville, Executive Director Swiss Cat+ West hub at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne). The Swiss Cat+ project aims at developing a fully automated and digitized chemical laboratory dedicated to the discovery and optimization of new catalysts. “Techvolver’s solution contributes to increase the operational capabilities of the Universal Robots (UR) already used in the Swiss Cat+ infrastructure to transfer samples between stations.” We expect that a first level of complete integration must be achieved by this autumn. With this, our UR will be pipetting various solvents without any human interaction in a sealed glovebox to contribute to high-quality data generation. This is very exciting for us and links into all our other hassle-free solutions. Read the interview in full length here https://lnkd.in/d8YmgC2s #labautomation #digitization #calibration #catalysis
