When to use high-speed DC chargers? ⏩ Your battery stores energy in DC form, so using a DC charger is much faster than an AC charger. 🔋 DC charging is a great option when you have a long way to go and need to get back on the road quickly. That’s why DC chargers are often located near major highways and other places with plenty of traffic. 🛣️ When choosing a charger, make sure your car can take the maximum power. If your EV only supports 50 kW charging speeds, it’s polite to leave the 300 kW chargers to cars that can make the most of them.💡 Check out our blog for more AC and DC charging tips 👇 https://buff.ly/47rc0Aj

Ever wondered how an electric vehicle charges? Let's break it down! 🔋 Initial Phase: Starts charging at a slow pace, charging up to around 20%. This is the prep phase for the rapid charging ahead. 🔌 Rapid Charging: Post 20%, the charge rate surges! This is where you'll see big gains in a short time. ⚡ Deceleration Phase: Around 80-90%, the speed starts to slow down to protect the battery's health. 🐢 Variability can be witnessed across EV models. Each EV has its own charge curve, with some maintaining high speeds longer, while others taper off more quickly. ⏱️ Why does it Matter? Knowing your EV's curve helps plan trips better. Avoid unnecessary waits and get back on the road swiftly! 🧠 The charge curve guides your EV's charging journey. Understand it, and you'll charge smarter! Just like people, public electric vehicle chargers come in different shapes and sizes. 🤗❤️ If you've ever wondered about the different types of electric vehicle (EV) chargers, we've got you covered! Alternating current [AC] is the kind of electricity you have in your home. AC chargers are typically 7–22 kW, meaning they can add between 40km to 130km of range to an EV every hour. Direct current [DC] is the type of electricity that batteries use, like the ones in your phone or laptop. DC chargers are typically 50kW+, meaning they can add more than 300km of range to an EV per hour. Having the right mix of DC fast chargers and slower AC chargers in the ACT means people can charge in a way that suits their needs at the time.
