Last week, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) officially released its Cybersecurity Framework 2.0 – the first major update to the framework since its creation. We asked our resident regulation and compliance guru, Christopher Strand, for his reaction to the news. He noted that the new guidance expands to areas of the enterprise that haven’t had focus or scrutiny in past versions of the Framework. The Cybersecurity Framework 2.0 goes beyond critical infrastructure to include recognition of the management and governance components of a business as a key player in security policy and maintenance.
