Dark matter is one of the most fascinating and elusive components of our universe. Despite being invisible and undetectable through direct observation, it is believed to make up about 27% of the universe's mass and energy content. Here's a closer look at this mysterious substance: What is Dark Matter? Dark matter is a form of matter that does not emit, absorb, or reflect light, making it invisible to electromagnetic observations. Its existence is inferred from its gravitational effects on visible matter, such as stars and galaxies. Scientists propose that dark matter is composed of particles that interact weakly with ordinary matter and radiation, hence the term "weakly interacting massive particles" (WIMPs).

As incredible as it sounds, humans being in the center of the universe is actually a serious physical theory that cosmologists, starting with Andrei Linde and yours truly, explored many years ago. It’s one of the most unexpected possible consequences of the eternal inflationary model which Linde proposed in 1986 and which we developed in detail in mid-90s, along with the emergence of the multiverse structure on very large scales.
