A lollipop that can detect mouth cancer! Genius! A group in Birmingham is working on a non-invasive cancer detection treatment that uses a hydrogel to detect cancer cells. It can be applied in numerous ways, but the easiest might just be a lollipop. Current methods of detecting oral cancer require a medical professional and can be comparatively invasive - this new method would be like giving candy to a baby. Excited to see where this one goes. #Dentistry #Healthcare #UK

How do we make a patient’s experience more comfortable? If we want to improve the healthcare experience this is the first question we should ask ourselves. From invasive tubes going into the body and doses of radiation to see everything, it would definitely be easier to use a lollipop if you could. This lollipop has a biogel that can detect mouth cancer using saliva markers. More can be read in the article.
