Some astute insights from Frank Adamson, PhD about Highlands Community Charter and Technical Schools. Although, while I understand the concern that Highlands might have a "law enforcement" mentality because so many on the board have a #corrections background, I don't believe this is a fundamental problem at Highlands. The reason there are so many from law enforcement is because most of them saw how our "prison pipeline" system is not working, and wanted a pipeline out of prison to a better life for ex-offenders. But his point about Highlands lacking #competition is spot on. I have seen Highlands use their "market dominance" to stop other potential competitors. For example, after I left Highlands, I still did some consulting for them, but when I also started to do some consulting for another adult charter school, Highlands unceremoniously dropped me. While dropping my contract was completely legal, it is just one example among many others of how they have attempted to stop competition. https://lnkd.in/dVYeJpaC

What does 'the Trust' mean? The Trust is the umbrella term to describe everyone in the organisation: our children, teachers, support staff, governors, trustees and the central team. The schools and central services combined make Greensand Multi Academy Trust what it is. We value the differences between each of our schools and what they contribute to our Trust. Our commitment to collaboration, support and challenge was the foundation upon which we built our Trust and remains integral to the way in which we lead and structure our organisation. #SteppingIntoGreatness #MultiAcademyTrust #EducationalExcellence #QualityofEducation

#Headteachers, #schoolleaders, proprietors, governors, trustees of #independentschools that are inspected by Ofsted Have you read it yet? The inspection handbook? It was updated again on the 5th of April! We thought we'd remind you. As usual there is a summary of changes: https://bit.ly/4aEmXAO But it is only useful if you read the details of each change in the handbook here: https://bit.ly/3LRBbnV If you have not read about the changes yet, please do so. If you have never read the handbook in its entirety, make the time - it is essential reading if you want to know what to expect during standard Ofsted inspections of independent schools.

An excellent initiative with proven positive results.
157 Southfield School, Kettering Year 11s and 30 staff are now on their way to Whitemoor Lakes Activity & Training Centre in Staffordshire for our annual 4 day revision/activity weekend. This will be the ninth year that we have run this activity and each year, the majority of our students claim that this was one of the most successful activities in boosting their GCSE results in the core subjects. Students also comment on how much fun they had and the lasting memories they created whilst there. As part of our new Academy Trust and our ongoing collaboration with other schools, Kingsthorpe College and Moulton School & Science College will also be sending some of their students on the trip. Have a good time everyone and #ReachYourFullPotential
