On this day in 1990, the U.S. signed into law the first comprehensive declaration of equality for people with disabilities. The #AmericansWithDisabilitiesAct (ADA) prohibits discrimination toward and codifies the rights to equal access and opportunity for people with disabilities. We celebrate the anniversary of this landmark legislation today, while also acknowledging that considerable obstacles to access, acceptance and equality still exist for people with disabilities. The #UniversityofDenver strives to make its campus accessible and inclusive to all, and pursues a future where stigma no longer exists around disabilities. Find out more about #accessibility at DU at the DU Accessibility website, which provides essential #resources for accessibility concerns, accommodation requests and current efforts going on around campus: https://bit.ly/3YnTHcB.
