ASSIMILATION As veterans transition of the military they are met with a slew of hurdles. This includes overcoming seen and unseen injuries, building a new career and redefining self identity. Traditional education systems and society often recognizes the struggles but fails to provide a pathway to success. We’ve found success comes when there is a transition to assimilation. When a Veteran is able to assimilate into the civilian world, they are successful. When they can learn to apply their lessons learned to a new career path they are successful. We want to provide a hand up, rather than a hand out. We want to teach assimilation rather than alienation. Our goal is to create an educational environment that specifically lends to how Veterans learn in the military. This is an immersive experience with fellow Veterans who can all share experiences, struggles and success together. In 3 weeks students have a deep understanding of their new career field with additional information on entrepreneurship, marketing, sales, self promotion and most importantly, assimilation.

It can be a hard transition about 30 years ago when I left the Army after aprox 14 years and being a Non Commisioned Officer . The most difficult thing for me was the lack of leadership skills of people put into leadership positions by managment it was down right discusting in some cases LOL . In those days in the Army NCOs were held to the highest standard and were trained to lead by example and never put self interest or comfort before their soldiers or the mission. I had to work very hard at not calling out poor leadership even though I was surronded by weak selfish people with no leadership skills . I started setting the standard and example and it rubbed off on sum and was reconized by the right people . Calling it out sometimes to people who are weak themselves in that area dosent work . There is a fine line a former officer or NCO must walk to fit into an organization with no concept of leadership and hopfully they can tolerate it long enough to be able make changes themselves.
