🇺🇸 Next PACT Act deadline for select Veterans The deadline to apply is Sept. 30, 2023. This new enrollment opportunity will allow Veterans who served in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other combat zones an opportunity to enroll directly in VA health care without first applying for VA benefits. Veterans who deployed to a combat zone, have never enrolled in VA health care, and who left active duty between Sept.11, 2001 and Oct.1, 2013 - specifically those Veterans who served in a theater of combat operations during a period of war after the Persian Gulf War or in combat against a hostile force during a period of hostilities after Nov.11,1998 - are now eligible to enroll directly in VA health care. If you are in this select group of Veterans, please go to https://buff.ly/3QA1DWh or call 1-800-MYVA41 and apply before that date. Many other Veteran groups– including many Vietnam Veterans and Gulf War Veterans, are already able to enroll directly in VA health care without first applying for VA benefits. https://buff.ly/3KPTWHE

Beginning March 5, 2024, VA is making all Veterans exposed to toxins while serving our country are eligible to enroll directly in VA health care without first applying for VA benefits – and we are going to use every tool at VA’s disposal to ensure that as many of these Veterans as possible come to VA for their care. This expansion of care means that all Veterans who served in the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Global War on Terror, or any other combat zone after 9/11 will be eligible to enroll directly in VA health care without first applying for VA benefits. Additionally, Veterans who never deployed but were exposed to toxins or hazards while training or on active duty in the United States will also be eligible to enroll. The Toolkit offers multiple communications resources you can use to reach your community members and help them better understand expanded care under PACT Act. We value your support and thank you for sharing vital VA health information with your constituents to assist Veterans, their families, and survivors in receiving the care they deserve. Please share with veterans you may know! As of March 5, 2024 all Veterans who were exposed to toxins and other hazards while serving our country at home or abroad, including those who served in the Vietnam War, Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan, or any other combat zone after 9/11, can enroll directly in VA health care without first applying for VA benefits. Veterans who were exposed to poisons or hazards while training or on active duty in the US can also enlist. After eliminating the PACT Act's phased-in approach to health care eligibility, millions of Veterans are eligible for VA health care eight years early. For Veterans, it means VA will make three more Veteran groups eligible for health care years before the PACT Act on March 5th: Veterans who were exposed to toxins or hazards during military service, posted to Southwest Asia or Africa duty stations, or deployed for post-9/11 operation assistance. Enrollment is open to Vietnam, Gulf War, Iraq, and Afghanistan veterans. Anyone who deployed to a combat zone after 9/11 can enroll. You can enlist if you supported the Global War on Terror.
