EXPLORER: Dr. Michael Levin has devoted his career to exploring treatments for multiple sclerosis and neurological disorders. As the Saskatchewan MS Clinical Research Chair at #USask, Dr. Levin and his team now aim to test potential drugs for MS treatment to transform current therapies. These new drugs, which are being patented and prepared for clinical trials, are designed to prevent disability and improve the lives of people living with MS. Canada has one of the highest rates of MS in the world. Your donation to the Campaign for USask and the Levin MS Research Fund can help accelerate and enhance the clinical trials that will radically change lives in our country and around the world. PROTECTOR: In her various roles throughout her career at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM), Dr. Jordan Woodsworth (BSc'04, DVM'08, PhD'23) has always taken on the responsibility of protecting vulnerable animals in need of care. Now as director of the WCVM's Northern Engagement Community Outreach (NECO) program, Dr. Woodsworth and her team have expanded their protective efforts beyond the WCVM's facilities. NECO provides veterinary services to remote and northern Indigenous communities with no local access to such services. Dr. Woodsworth received The Humane Award from the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association last year for her dedication to animal welfare. It takes donors to the Be What the World Needs campaign to help expand the reach and strength of the WCVM's initiatives like NECO so animals in remote communities in Saskatchewan can continue to be protected.
