As part of the Nordic Purchasing Team, I'm personally inspired by seeing how we can translate this commitment into real action, and L'Oréal's Inclusive Sourcing program is a fantastic example of this in practice. Launched in 2010, this initiative aims to build a more inclusive and equitable world alongside strong economic performance. My October with L'Oréal Ignite: A Look Behind the Scenes in Operations & Supply Chain The recent "Deep Dive into Operations & Supply Chain" webinar was a real eye-opener, giving us an in-depth look at how L'Oréal aligns its supply chain with its commitment to sustainability. From planning and distribution to innovative waste recycling efforts, it was inspiring to see how each step in the process contributes to reducing environmental impact. What also excites me most is the chance to learn how L'Oréal’s supply chain processes—from planning to distribution—align with their sustainability commitments through L'Oréal for the Future. Understanding how a global brand integrates efficiency with sustainability is truly inspiring. 🌍 The recent "Deep Dive into Operations & Supply Chain" webinar provided an eye-opening look at each step, showcasing not only the technical side of demand planning with tools like Power BI but also L'Oréal’s recycling initiatives and other innovative ways to reduce environmental impact. One of the most valuable takeaways was the advice from L'Oréal experts that "knowledge is only a question away." The session was eye-opening, offering valuable insights into the behind-the-scenes processes that keep L'Oréal’s global operations running sustainably. 🥗End-to-End Efficiency: The webinar mentioned how critical an efficient supply chain is to delivering high-quality products to consumers. From raw material sourcing to product distribution, every link in the chain plays a vital role in ensuring timely delivery and maintaining L'Oréal's high standards. 🗺 Sustainability in Operations: A major focus was on L'Oréal’s ESG initiatives, particularly in its supply chain. 👁️🗨️ Yesterday, I had the opportunity to visit L'Oréal Nordics in their Copenhagen office as a case study to see their vision and take on #CSR. It was interesting to see how companies of such a big scale integrate these principles into their business model. How do they approach the risks in and outside the EU? To give us a glimpse of the insights, they prepared an interactive game to understand what challenges lie on the way to creating a #sustainable business from upstream to downstream. 🖇 By standing in front of people who make very important decisions in terms of #sustainability and social impacts, I wondered about many ethical, quantitative, creative, and entrepreneurial questions. Although the only way to really know the answers is to look forward to the results of actions, I appreciated that they were open about their #learning process and transparent that they didn’t know all the answers yet. As they said, “We must feel comfortable with failure,” I imagine for the sake of #innovation. 👀 But of course, we are talking about a company with huge profits. Expectations about their actions and investments in a better future are respectfully huge.
