In this week's segment of our 'Confessions of Delivery Agents' series, we delve into a common frustration among drivers: the lack of clear instructions when delivering to apartments 🚶 As e-commerce continues to surge, logistic companies are under pressure to expedite parcel deliveries. However, current maps often lack detailed Points of Interest (POI) data, leaving delivery agents with inadequate guidance to reach specific addresses. As a result, delivery agents spend valuable time navigating venues, searching for building entrances or the correct lift, rather than maximizing parcel deliveries. My post on the United States Postal Service was one of my most popular (and contentious) posts in the last 6 months. Some points that I have been highlighting for service based operators around the world were the focus of #wmxamericas as they moved through day. • The need for ongoing innovation for postal entities • Better support (and presence) on the returns battleground • Improved international shopping One key message that was clear - there has to be a better focus on the customer. In all of the areas presented, customer experience, customer journey and customer feedback were all key takeaways. I have been sharing more recently on operations being a key element to improved customer experience. That how you execute just becoming just as important as the product you are executing on. The start-up pitch is something I am interested in. From who was there, it seemed a mix of AI delivery tools, cargo e-bikes and more SaaS (there still seems to be the misguided thinking that managing transactions is what logistics is missing). There was also some focus on EV automated charging. Looking forward to Andre Pharand announcing the winners today. Day 2 has a couple of keynotes I'm interested in. 🔎 AI-Powered Search is Live on Rona.ca! When I joined RONA last year, one of the key pain points I heard from our team, customers, and store associates was our on-site search functionality. Recognizing this, our digital team got to work enhancing the search experience. There are a number of great vendors in this space so our goal was to find the best match for RONA's needs. After a thoughtful evaluation of several vendors, we chose Constructor as our Product Search and Discovery partner. Their advanced AI capabilities, agility to adapt to our extensive product catalogue and the elimination of manual business rules were key factors in our decision. Since our launch in August, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive—many have noted, “It’s night and day!” And we're already seeing the anticipated improvements in our search KPIs.
