Building an Inclusive community, begins with courageous, willing & empathetic members and leaders of community in collaborative partnerships. It was wonderful, to conduct an interactive workshop, to a room full of open-minded, empathetic partners from various organizations, businesses and community members of Oxford County, organized by United Way of Oxford County! We interactively learned and discussed about how to recognize and understand our own implicit bias, stereotypes and micro-aggressive-behaviors. In our group discussion and reflection, we shared how our own everyday can build more welcoming and inclusive communities. Sensitive content like this requires a certain degree of vulnerability and as such, the training was delivered through inclusion frameworks & with self-care strategies. In particular, we learned a shared language around power, privilege, and identity. Established an understanding of our micr-behaviors and how they affect individuals. Our session finished with guidance on approaches in response to micro-aggressive-behaviors and learn how to build a more welcoming community and a better future for upcoming generations. #belongingworkculture #microaggressivebehaviors #microinclusivebehaviors #microbelongingbehaviors #drfarzanachohan
