How to Have Fun and Win Like Bryson DeChambeau & the Boston Celtics Bryce Johnson and guest co-host, James Metsger, unpack how Bryson DeChambeau ended up winning the U.S. Open while having fun…and how, as followers of Jesus, we can enjoy life and have fun with Him. Today's Questions: 1. What does it look like to have fun in a way that brings glory to God? 2. How do we balance having fun with taking our responsibilities seriously? 3. Does finding enjoyment in life mean that we have to put aside emotions such as sadness and mourning?

🤔📣…DO YOU UNDERSTAND GOD’s ANNOINTED FAVOR…not yours, but HIS, operating, placed, spoken on and through YOU? “Now he told a parable to those who were invited, when he noticed how they chose the places of honor, saying to them, “When you are invited by someone to a wedding feast, do not sit down in a place of honor, lest someone more distinguished than you be invited by him, and he who invited you both will come and say to you, ‘Give your place to this person,’ and then you will begin with shame to take the lowest place. But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when your host comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, move up higher.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at table with you. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” (Luke 14:7-11) & “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows (Ps. 23:5).” #leadershipcoaching #disciplingleadership #lifecoaching #faithbasedcoach #trueleadership #effectiveleadership #Godordainedleadership #relationshipcoach #humblebeforeGod #Jesusexample #KnowWhatItIs

A new journey,a new chapter! We hardly post about our faith journey here, but for some of us at the core of what you see about our milestones is #Grace. It is the perpetual seeking found in Matthew 6:33 “seek ye first the kingdom of #God and all shall be added unto you” that has waved us through every career journey we have embarked on. The principles found in the Bible will build you, mould your character and give you wisdom to navigate the corridors of your career. #Prayer Will give you clarity and direction in the most pivotal parts of decision making and help you in crafting the right relationships. Try being intentional about your relationship with God,and see what he can do🙏

Today we begin a new focus with the Gospel of Mark, chapter 1. We will be exploring how we can be more involved in the Kingdom of God. In Ch. 1, we will begin to see Jesus as our superhero: One we enthusiastically look to as a role model. Upon such observations, we discover must about who He is, His mission, and how that might effect our life.

"groups actually do things" so grateful to have Dr. Gregory Lee with our Burnham fellows yesterday. ---------------- Dr. Lee threw some profound stuff our way yesterday. the phrase, "groups actually do things" hit me like an anvil. what he meant was, it is truly **groups** of people (and not individual people themselves) who accomplish things in life. this is the idea of "emergence" - that the sum of a thing is greater than its parts. this is a great encouragement (and challenge) for the tasks of both business building (my work with OnCenter) and Christian discipleship (my life with Faith & Work Chicago/Holy Trinity Church - Chicago). when we talk about accomplishing something significant...for example, dismantling an unjust system...it is a GROUP of people that possesses the ability to tackle such a thing. no individual has the ability to take on something so seemingly insurmountable. and yet, we humans try to do this all the time. we love to reinforce the Western cultural ideology that the self can conquer all through things like determination, effort, power, money, Stoicism, sheer force of will, etc. but it is groups that actually do things. whether that is a building a business that grows, or becoming a church that reflects the love of Christ...GROUPS do things. he reminded us in closing of John 17: "I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me." in his final hour of life, Jesus asks God the Father for unity among His people. THIS would be the thing that would show the world who Jesus truly is: not convincing apologetic arguments, or scientific evidence, or powerful sermons & messages... ...nope. instead, it would the unity of the church. the unity of a GROUP of people. that's what can show the world what Jesus is like. encouraged. groups actually do things. #JoyInTheJourney #UseTheTime #KeepGoing

THE CONVERSATION We need at every stage in our journey through work, to be in conversation with our desire for something suited to us and our individual natures.* David Whyte the will to be oneself is heroism** José Ortega y Gasset My work is a conversation between myself and another towards that person developing the most important conversation of all – The one they will have with themselves every day. In the 1970s, Julia Cameron introduced us to morning pages for this purpose, A way to be present to oneself and the day; An updating of journaling and meditation and presence – Practices wrapped in religions for thousands of years. At the heart of this conversation we have with ourselves, we are exploring our identity, resilience, creativity, Out of which flows the possibility of a life-changing conversation with another. When you find what you’re meant to do, you do it.^ *David White’s Crossing the Unknown Sea; **Joseph Campbell’s The Hero’s Journey; ^Ryan Holiday’s Discipline is Destiny.

Acts chapter 2 and the world changed forever. Can you imagine all the leaders of the city wondering how such ordinary people could create so much change? It's because ordinary people, filled with the Holy Spirit, and living in God's purpose are limitless. Don't limit God by what you think YOU have to offer.
