So, last week our first LIVE Soft Launch took place. A Merchant - an importer of Whiskey into Israel - chose to test WINEing, as the means to sell his goods DTC at the Whisky Live ISRAEL conference, held over 2 days at Expo Tel Aviv. This specific merchant was the only one to actually sell at its stand, while others chose to do it at a central store at the conference's exit. The result? 84 Whiskey bottles sold over 2 days (average value of $60-70/bottle) after 9 parallel daily group buys were offered during the 2 conference days (6h of conference per day). A value of close to 2 weeks of bottle sales turnover and over 2 months of customer data collection. WINEing works! Gone are the days of charging $100 for 4 solid hours of drinking, expecting to sell out in minutes. Events where friends would gather in this year’s thematic costume and pretzel necklace, mapping out the award-winners to sample first. Festivals so popular that sponsors were dripping off every brandable surface on the show floor. And meet-and-greets, takeovers and week-of promotions that supported local retailers while building brand awareness and goodwill. Not trying to be doomsday here.
