Does anyone know a brilliant fundraiser looking for a job (or part time contract)? I am constantly asked for referrals by my clients. For me, being an excellent fundraiser means: - You know how to work with teams to conceptualise new projects and can think strategically. - You can project manage a scary funding application from start to finish, with attention to detail. - You are driven and motivated to put in new applications, even when the rest of the team are reluctant or intimidated. - You are not afraid of approaching potential donors for conversations. - You understand how to communicate impact. If you are out there, I can help you find a meaningful job!

Job seekers often face a paradoxical situation: employers seek candidates with prior experience, yet opportunities to cultivate that experience can be limited without being hired first. However, volunteering presents a powerful solution to overcome this obstacle. By dedicating your time to meaningful causes, you'll simultaneously: ✨ Gain Relevant Experience: Develop transferable skills that align with your desired role, giving you a competitive edge. ✨ Build a Compelling Portfolio: Accumulate accomplishment stories that showcase your talents and prove you're the ideal candidate. ✨ Expand Your Professional Network: Connect with industry professionals who could open doors to your dream opportunity. Don't let inexperience hinder your career journey any longer. Volunteering empowers you to bridge those gaps while creating a positive impact. Join us on May 30th from 1-3 pm to explore how volunteering can propel your path to meaningful employment. Sales Trainer and Development Manager @ Sky at Storey | Studying for my UEFA C Diploma | Football Coach with Pompey in the Community
Monday thoughts for the job hunters out there :-) Really enjoying my volunteer work over the last 18 months or so at Queen Elizabeth Country Park. So below is some thoughts on it, hope it helps :-) 1) Skill Enhancement: Volunteering allows you to develop and hone new and potentially valuable skill sets, I am rubbish at DIY, volunteering at QECP exposes me to tools I did not even know existed :-) 2) Networking Opportunities: Volunteering exposes you to professionals in a variety of fields, expanding your network and potentially leading to job opportunities. 3) Employment Gap's: Volunteering is a proactive way to fill employment gaps, showing that you remained engaged and productive during periods of unemployment. 4) Industry Exploration: Volunteering offers a chance to explore new industries, helping you gain insights, discover interests, and make more informed decisions about your career path. 5) Mental Health: Being able to give time back and finding something that you enjoy doing can be a massive stimulus and give you the feel good factor of getting out the house, mixing with others etc. This in turn can help with interviews as you will be in a more positive mindset. Volunteering for me is fun because it brings as I said above the feel good factor, through meaningful contributions to others. It can provides a sense of purpose, connecting you with like-minded individuals and fostering a positive community. The shared commitment to a cause creates a fulfilling and enjoyable environment, making the experience both rewarding and personally satisfying. Giving back is just as important. :-) #recruiters lets have a conversation, how can we help each other :-) #newcareeropportunities #newcareer #opentowork #newcareeropportunities #jobhunting #newopportunities #recruiter #recruiting #goodconversations #bekind #mentalhealthmatters #volunteer #volunteering

Passionate Career Coach for Humanitarian & Development Professionals | Senior INGO Experience | Job Search, Applications, Interviews & Onboarding | Bilingual: English & German
𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐉𝐨𝐛 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐁𝐞 𝐚 𝐇𝐮𝐠𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 Every time someone asks me how to switch from their steady job to humanitarian aid, I fire back with: But why?! If you’re itching to make an impact, start in your own backyard before making a move that could backfire. Here’s why giving up your regular job might be a colossal mistake: 𝙁𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝘾𝙝𝙚𝙘𝙠: Humanitarian work often comes with a significant pay cut. If you’re used to a steady paycheck, be ready to tighten your belt. 𝘽𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙄𝙨 𝙄𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚: You’ll be thrown into high-stress situations with little support. The emotional and physical toll is real—burnout isn’t just a possibility, it’s almost a guarantee. 𝙏𝙤𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙮𝙡𝙚 𝙊𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙝𝙖𝙪𝙡: This isn’t just swapping jobs—it’s changing your life. From being on call 24/7 to handling situations far outside your comfort zone, you’ll need to adapt fast. 𝙎𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙂𝙖𝙥𝙨 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧: You can’t just show up with good intentions. You need specific skills and training. Volunteering first is a smart way to see if this world is really for you. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙨𝙨 𝙄𝙨𝙣’𝙩 𝘼𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙂𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙧: The work can be deeply fulfilling, but it’s also fraught with challenges that can leave you questioning your decision. 𝑩𝒐𝒕𝒕𝒐𝒎 𝑳𝒊𝒏𝒆: Don’t romanticize humanitarian work. Do your research, talk to veterans in the field, and think long and hard before making the leap. 📝 Thinking about making the switch? Let’s connect and discuss how to prepare. #HumanitarianJobs #NGOJobs #CareerAdvice #Bewerbung #Jobsuche #Karriere
