Blast from the past! 🚀 Who remembers these from their school days? 😯 A trundle wheel! 🛞 I remember teaching my own classes about the use of a trundle wheel in maths lessons. 'What measuring devices are there? Yes, a metre stick is not always useful if you need to measure something that is not straight!' etc. Now, here is the all-important question, especially for the teachers out there. ❓ How many times have you ever used a trundle wheel IN REAL LIFE? ❓ Answer - probably never. WELL...! (Prepare to be amazed...) I had a gardener come to my house this morning to give me a quote for trimming our hedge. Can you guess what he brought with him? 🏡 YES! A trundle wheel! 🛞 He then walked the length of our hedge with his trundle wheel to measure it and I couldn't help but giggle when I realised I had NEVER seen anyone use one outside of the school environment. I love it when we can prove that the things we teach actually do turn out to be useful in real life, other than the obvious things like having the ability to calculate, read, tell the time etc.!! 🤣 How many things were you taught at school that you have NEVER used in your adult life? 🧐 #Maths #Tutoring #InternationalTutor #Wheels

A subject teacher entered the classroom and found the chair he was going to sit on, hung to the ceiling. He looked at the students and smiled without saying a word. He proceeded to the board and wrote: Test- 15min, 30marks. Question 1. Calculate the distance between the chair and the floor in centimetres (1 mark). Question 2. Calculate the angle of inclination of the chair to the ceiling, show your workings (1 mark) Question 3. Write the name of the student who hung the chair to the ceiling and the friends who helped him. (28 Marks). 😁😁🤩🤣🤣 #FridayBlessingsToAll

🔍 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝘅𝗮𝘀 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗔𝗥 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀: 𝗘𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 📊 Only 41% of Math and 53% of RLA students met grade level last school year. At Sirius, we believe success on STAAR is achievable with 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 TEKS instruction and 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱 practice. Moving beyond “drill and kill” methods—students need 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗼𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀, 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰 STAAR practice to learn 𝘩𝘰𝘸 the TEKS are tested. We've created a 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 with strategies to help districts tackle these challenges and improve STAAR outcomes for 𝗔𝗟𝗟 Students.

Parts of The Body (Vocabulary) Lesson This lesson aims to help primary students learn and identify different parts of the human body. By the end of the lesson, students should be able to correctly label common body parts such as the head, arms, legs, hands, feet, and fingers. They should also be able to identify the functions of each body part, such as using their hands to pick up objects or their feet to walk and run. https://lnkd.in/gzn3hK85

Pak and Wesley (2012) explored the impact of reading logs on student reading engagement. In the study 112 2nd and 3rd grade students in US schools were assigned either a mandatory or voluntary log. "Students with mandatory logs expressed declines in both interest and attitudes towards recreational reading in comparison to peers with voluntary logs." Attitudes towards academic reading also decreased significantly. https://lnkd.in/gHXQzPvR
