It’s difficult to know where the bar is in relation to your neck without watching your lift back on video, but one of my favorite cues to help get the position right is “armpits facing forward” If the bar is too far back, the shoulders tend to dump forward and the armpits are facing down. Not an optimal position to be in with a heavy bar overhead! Try it and see if it improves the stability and strength of your receiving position! New to snatching? I have an in-depth snatch tutorial that you can follow along. In it, Coach CJ teaches you 5 drills to learn how to snatch properly. Get it for free here - https://lnkd.in/evgfDjgG

Looking for a great resource on what effective coaches do and *when* they do it? One that's supported by a battery of research? Check out these highlights from the latest Consulting Psychology Journal… - To spur a client's motivation, coaches should start with more directive guidance and positive feedback. - Solution-focused questions encourage them to make spontaneous statements about their ability to execute specific goals. - But don't align goals too early. There's a risk of minimizing complexity and focusing on the "wrong" objectives. - Challenging feedback will become key to sustaining trust and helping an exec define their leader identity. Yet, benefits are limited if introduced too soon. - All the while, coaches facilitate better self-reflection when they draw attention to the particular words and metaphors a client uses. Thank you, as always Kenneth Nowack, for circulating insights like this.
